Warriors at Trail Blazers Game Preview, Odds, Picks & Predictions
Golden State Massive Favorites on Road
Warriors Look to Get Back on Track
Although the Golden State Warriors limped into the All-Star break behind a two-game losing streak, they’re back in a big way on the NBA odds board as they look to restart their campaign in the second half of the season.
BetUS sportsbook has rolled out a massive 10-point spread for the Warriors’ clash with the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night. The Blazers won four in a row before the league’s midseason pause. Despite the encouraging run of form, the public is overlooking the hosts and backing the visitors instead to cover.

So, is the public backing the right side for NBA picks?
Warriors Need to Perk Up
The Western Conference is currently being billed as a two-horse race in betting online markets between the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors. In reality, the Suns have a significant edge over the Warriors. If Golden State is to win the Western Conference, they have a lot of work to do.
The Warriors are 6½ games behind the Suns and riding a two-game losing streak into Thursday’s contest with losses to the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors were overwhelmed by the Clippers 119-104 and then lost a 117-116 heartbreaker to the Nuggets.
The Warriors are 29-26-4 against the spread (ATS) with a 6.9 winning margin on average and a +1.4 differential versus the spread. On the road, the Warriors are 12-13-2 with a 1.1 winning margin on average and a -0.3 differential versus the spread.
Trail Blazers Look To Continue Run
The Portland Trail Blazers reeled off four straight wins at the expense of the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks and the Memphis Grizzlies. The fact that these wins come at the expense of solid competition should embolden the Trail Blazers ahead of this upcoming clash.
By the stats, the Trail Blazers beat the Lakers 107-105 to cover as the +9 ½ underdogs, the Knicks 112-103 to cover the +4½ spread , the Bucks 122-107 to cover as the +11 underdogs and the Grizzlies 123-119 to cover as the +12½ underdogs.
The Trail Blazers are 25-34-0 ATS with a 3.9 losing margin on average and a -2.2 differential versus the spread. At home, they are 15-17-0 ATS with a -0.8 losing margin on average and a -1.0 differential versus the spread.
Warriors at Trail Blazers Head-to-Head
The Golden State Warriors own the 6-4 head-to-head edge in the last 10 games over the Portland Trail Blazers. They went 5-4-1 ATS and 5-5-0 in over and under betting.
On Dec. 8, 2021 (the most recent meeting), the Warriors beat the Blazers 104-94 but failed to cover as the -14½ home favorites. On Nov. 26, the Warriors beat the Blazers 118-103 on the road to cover ast the -6 road favorite.

Warriors at Trail Blazers Prediction
The markets are predictably skewed in favor of the Golden State Warriors. They are in the midst of a better season and well inside in the playoff frame. Form was slightly concerning ahead of the break, but the time off may well rejuvenate the Warriors as they look to pick up momentum down the stretch.
The Portland Trail Blazers are just inside the play-in frame but they’re still a long way off from being assured a spot. Form was positive in their last few games before the break, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll be able to pick up from where they left off with the same intensity.
That said, 10 points does seem like a lot to lay down on this game. Thus, the Trail Blazers may well be the better bet to cover as the +10 home dogs.
