Grizzlies vs Nets Game Preview, Odds, Picks & Predictions
The Memphis Grizzlies get back on the road against the Brooklyn Nets, who are reeling after consecutive losses.

The Grizzlies have been a money-making machine for bettors. NBA betting odds have them as underdogs again, but they could be worth wager.

Memphis Grizzlies at Brooklyn Nets
Grizzlies Rampaging
Betting on the Memphis Grizzlies has been a profitable option for bettors. They are 22-15 against the spread, which is a much better statistic than the Brooklyn Nets.
Despite having three more losses, they have been an excellent bet. They are riding a four-game winning streak, of which they covered in three of those four. The only spread loss came when beating the Los Angeles Lakers 104-99 as a -6 favorite.
They have an excellent record as the underdog, including a 3-1 record when getting five to seven points from the bookmakers. The main reason for the Grizzlies’ success has been their offense, which ranks seventh-best.
It’s better than Brooklyn’s offense, which not many people thought would have been the case. They average 111.1 points, and although there is room for improvement on the defense, we like what we’re seeing.
Ja Morant, who we thought should have been the top pick in the 2019 Draft, is showing us why. He still has plenty of room for improvement and he could take the Grizzlies past the Nets on Monday.
The sportsbook has the Grizzlies at +6½, which is an incredible line. They aren’t six points worse than the Nets, and with a 10-6 road record, there are no obvious concerns when backing the Grizzlies at Barclays Center.
Nets Get Durant Serving
It’s fair to say NBA superstar Kevin Durant wasn’t happy with the Brooklyn Nets’ performance against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The power forward, who averages 29.8 points, had some choice words for his teammates following the 120-116 setback.
“We just relaxed too much,” Durant told ESPN. “We get up 10, miss a layup or turn the ball over, and they get a fast break, give up a three, straight-line drive – like coach [Steve Nash] said, we didn’t deserve to win this game. We came in here with a (bleeped)-up attitude. Thinking we were just going to walk into a W.”
The frustration might have stemmed from consecutive losses, which included a 110-102 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. James Harden has been criticized for his lazy play, but he had to carry the brunt of the responsibility with Durant and Kyrie Irving out of action.
The Nets are only 15-19 ATS, but betting online markets always give them respect. We would have priced the Nets at around -3, especially given their recent struggles.
Grizzlies Have Momentum
We’re confident with the Memphis Grizzlies in this situation. They take on a weakened Nets outfit, which hasn’t been covering spreads with regularity.
Getting +6½ points was a happy surprise, so we’re happy to take the Grizzlies with the head start. We expect Morant and Desmond Bane to produce most of the points and it could be too much for the Nets to handle.
The Grizzlies are one of our NBA best bets for Monday, in what could be a profitable night for the underdogs.
