Game 3 Proves To Be Pivotal
The Golden State Warriors were able to take care of business in Game 1 – even with Draymond Green getting ejected. The script changed in Game 2 as they couldn’t win with him. Ja Morant exploded onto the scene to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a win.
With the series tied 1-1 heading into this matchup Saturday at Golden State, both teams will be looking to grab the lead in the crucial Game 3.
Morant Was Unbelievable for Grizzlies
Drafting Ja Morant completely changed this franchise and for the better. With him healthy out there, Memphis looks incredibly good.
That was pretty evident in Game 2 when he came out and dropped 47 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists on 15-31 shooting from the field.
He only had two turnovers. This team scored 106 points that game, nobody else contributed more than 14.
The recipe for success is pretty simple: allow Morant to play aggressively and take over games. However, the team will be limited as star guard Desmond Bane has been suspended for Game 3.
Role Players Didn’t Play Well For Warriors
Steph Curry dropped a casual 27 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists in Game 2 but it just wasn’t enough to help them pull away. Klay Thompson had yet another rough outing, shooting just 5-of-19 with 12 total points.
Andrew Wiggins was 1-of-7 on 3-point attempts and nobody on their bench attributed more than 10 points besides Jordan Poole.
To make matters worse, Gary Payton II, one of their premier defenders, suffered a serious arm injury that will hold him out for the rest of the series.
In Game 2, Memphis showed that they have a lot of fight in them. Now we have to see if they can carry that over into Game 3 where the Warriors now have home-court advantage.
Grizzlies vs Warriors Head-to-Head
The Grizzlies were able to win three out of the four regular-season matchups against the Warriors. When you add on this current playoff series, Memphis still holds the overall lead 4-2.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction
If you plan to bet online against the spread, then the Memphis Grizzlies could be the pick to make. Golden State is currently favored in this matchup by seven points – a fairly hefty margin considering how they just lost their last game.
The absence of Payton could wind up allowing Morant to explode once again in Game 3. Plus, this young squad is likely to feel more enthusiastic than ever before following a win like that.
Even if Golden State ends up emerging victorious, the game won’t be decided by seven or more points. Each of the previous games were decided by less than five.
