Healthier Nuggets Our NBA Underdog Bet Against Clippers

With the NBA In-Season Tournament in full swing, we are still going to get quality matchups outside of it. One of the top matches for NBA predictions is the Denver Nuggets (14-7) facing the Los Angeles Clippers (9-10).

The Nuggets lost their last game, 123-117 against the Sacramento Kings, despite a fantastic game from Nikola Jokić. On the other hand, the Clippers might have gotten a win to officially start getting this talented roster all on the same page, beating the Golden State Warriors 113-112.

Denver Back to Health

After starting the season so well, the reigning NBA champions hit a rough patch from Nov. 12 to 24, losing five of seven games. A massive part of that was an injury to Jamal Murray, affecting NBA odds and causing the team to struggle to get situated.

However, Denver eventually figured it out and won four straight before losing to the Kings. Murray was able to return in the win streak’s final game. The Nuggets also beat the Clippers in a game where Jokić, Murray, and Aaron Gordon were sidelined. Two former Clippers, Reggie Jackson and DeAndre Jordan, dominated their former team.

Jackson went off for 35 points and 13 assists, while Jordan scored 21, adding 13 rebounds. It was a big win that put the Nuggets NBA lines back on track, and it becomes even more critical now that the team is healthy. Murray is considered a game-time decision, he hasn’t played since Nov. 29 but should be good to go.

On top of that, Gordon returned to the court after missing four games, losing to the Kings. In that loss, Jokić put up an incredible stat line of 36 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists without a single turnover. However, the lack of support was glaring, which will be fixed by a healthy Murray.

Los Angeles Potentially Gets Best Big-3 Game

This season has been a mixed bag for the Clippers, especially after they traded for James Harden. Obviously, the five-game losing streak after the trade showed that this team needed time to gel, and moving Russell Westbrook to the bench has helped with that. That then led to a quick three-game winning streak.

Still, the Clippers are not a team that NBA spreads are too sure about, alternating between wins and losses over the last seven games. However, that does show the team is at least starting to learn from its mistakes.

The last two games against Golden State showed some improvement, and the core three players, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Harden, all played decent enough to make things competitive. The big three arguably had their best game together in the second encounter, winning 113-112, with all having at least 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

The Nuggets feel like they are about to start playing how they did in the early parts of the season with a healthy Murray back on the roster. That does lean NBA picks back in favor of Denver, even though Los Angeles is trending in the right direction.

While the Clippers are improving, it is still hit or miss with them, while the Nuggets, with a healthy Murray, are a proven elite team.
