Miami Visits Boston In Battle of Division Leaders
The Miami Heat will try to put together their first winning streak in almost two weeks when they take on the host Boston Celtics on Wednesday in a matchup of two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference standings. Miami is leading the East after a Monday win over the Sacramento Kings, but with just a half-game lead over the Milwaukee Bucks and a one-game advantage on Boston. The Celtics had their six-game winning streak snapped with an overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. This one is going to have playoff intensity from the start, so take a look at our game preview before you make a single bet online.
Let’s check the latest NBA Picks, stats, injury reports, and NBA Odds for Heat vs Celtics. We’ve plenty of NBA Predictions.

Heat Trying To Turn It Around After Slump
The Miami Heat are atop the Eastern Conference standings despite having just one win in their last five games. Among those losses were blown leads and infighting between players and coach Erik Spoelstra, but a few more wins will still get Miami the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and likely a renewed sense of confidence.
The win over the Sacramento Kings on Monday that snapped a season-long four-game losing skid showed the potential for the team, with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro all scoring 20 or more points. The Miami defense was also solid, holding the Kings to 100 points and 45.7% shooting from the field.
Miami is going to need both aspects of that win to continue against Boston, especially the scoring of Butler. The veteran forward sets the tone for the Heat on both ends of the floor, and when he’s going well, Miami is a much better team. Butler is averaging 21.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists, and he had 27 points and seven assists in Monday’s win.
Getting Herro back in the lineup is big for Miami as well. The 22-year-old missed a pair of games last week with a knee sprain but has played in the last two contests. Herro is averaging a career-best 20.8 points per game and shooting 38.9% from 3-point range.
Adebayo is also an important presence for the Heat, especially on the defensive end. He’s averaging 19.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals, and he’ll need to be strong on the defensive glass to keep the Celtics from getting multiple shots in a possession.
Celtics Suffer Big Loss Heading To The Postseason
The Boston Celtics looked like a top title contender after reeling off six straight wins to move to the top of the East standings. But center Robert Williams III suffered a torn meniscus that will require surgery on Sunday, and suddenly Boston is without its top interior presence on the defensive end.
“Obviously, Rob has a huge impact on both sides of the floor,” Celtics guard Derrick White said after Monday’s loss. “You can’t really replace what he does. He’s unique in that respect.”
Williams is averaging 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game this season and is expected to be out for a few weeks.
The Celtics should get back leading scorers Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown for this one after both sat out against Toronto. Tatum is scoring 27.1 points per game while also contributing 8.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest and has been dealing with knee soreness, which kept him out against the Raptors.
Brown is also dealing with an ongoing knee problem and is listed as day-to-day, but he should be back for this key contest. Brown is averaging 23.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists this season.
Heat vs Celtics Head-to-Head
The Boston Celtics are going for the three-game season series sweep of the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Boston has won both games easily, taking a 17-point victory in Miami in November and routing the Heat by 30 in Boston in late January.
The Heat won three of four against the Celtics prior to this season, though Boston still holds a big advantage in the all-time series. The NBA lines are counting on the Celtics to continue their dominance of the Heat in this one, though not by as much as in the previous meetings.

Heat vs Celtics Prediction
The loss of Williams in the paint is going to hurt the Boston Celtics, but there is a lot of depth on the team’s roster and a pair of All-Stars on the perimeter. The Miami Heat are still trying to put it together after their long losing streak, and they’re going to have their troubles in Beantown on Wednesday night.
