Suns Rare Underdogs

It’s not often our sportsbook has the Suns as 1½ underdogs, but bettors could jump on that line.

They haven’t been playing the best basketball recently, including losses to the Toronto Raptors and Denver Nuggets. However, they bounced back with a 116-109 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Despite having some of the best natural scorers in the NBA, with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, the Suns have underachieved.

They are 11-8, but only 9-10-1 against the spread, which is a worry. However, there is a silver lining. They aren’t often underdogs, so those statistics don’t reflect their ability to cover spreads as one.

Bradley Beal is reported to be out of action, but Durant and Booker are good enough to wear out the older Lakers roster.

Our only concern is their recent lack of explosive offense. They haven’t scored over 116 points in their last five games, and more might needed to cover the online betting spread.

Lakers Handling Suns

The Lakers are 2-0 against the Suns, including a 100-95 win at home in October.

They then scored a 122-119 road victory last month, so they have found the formula to beat the Suns.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis are a tough duo to beat in meaningful games, and they’ll be keen to help the Lakers win the In-Season Tournament.

They have recent losses to Philadelphia and Oklahoma City, but they came on the road. They rebounded with a 107-97 home win against Houston, and they’re 8-2 at Crypto.com Arena.

It was good to see them come out swinging against Houston, as they haven’t been a good first quarter team.

“That’s probably one of the best quarters that we had this year, especially in the first half. We just haven’t been a first-half team,” James said. “It came with defending, getting out, sharing the ball, moving the ball and A.R. was special in the second.”

Betting online markets could see movement for the Lakers. The current line isn’t big, and the Lakers are much better at home.

Suns vs Lakers Game Prediction

Predicted Score: Los Angeles Lakers 116, Phoenix Suns 112

Worth Betting the Moneyline?

Because the line is only -1½, we’re looking for better value with ATS markets.

The Lakers are our bet to win outright, so include them in NBA parlays, but the -110 line for -1½ is a better option.

Suns vs Lakers Betting Lines

Worth Betting ATS?

Our best NBA bet for Dec 5 is the Lakers -1½. It’s an excellent line for a team that loves playing at home, and the Suns aren’t playing their best.

If the jump shot for the Suns isn’t working, they don’t have much else to go on. That gives the Lakers an advantage, and the line could move late.

NBA Pick: Los Angeles Lakers -1½

Worth Betting on the Totals?

After opening the line at 224½ points, the total points line has moved to 228.

We’re picking the over because of the amount of raw scoring talent on the floor. Defense should show up for the Lakers, which is why we’re picking them to win, but the total is lower than expected.

NBA Pick: Suns, Lakers Over 228
