Best Player Props Pacers vs Celtics

Celtics SG Jaylen Brown Over 25½ Points

The Celtics are eager to close out this series tonight and give themselves 10 days to rest for the NBA Finals. With the Dallas Mavericks also in a great position in the Western Conference Finals, up 3-0, Boston is aware this is their chance to gain any slight advantage in terms of rest. Boston will finish the job tonight and wrap up this series with a sweep. Road teams in the conference finals have gone 7-2 in close-out games over the last nine instances.

Our first player prop is Jaylen Brown. Over the next week and a half, you’ll hear many pundits debating about who is the superstar between Brown and Jayson Tatum. The answer is irrelevant to the Celtics star duo, but I’m sure Stephen A. Smith will have guests this week to dominate the headlines. Brown has been consistently phenomenal throughout the playoffs thus far and is right behind Tatum (31.7 ppg) in the Eastern Conference Finals at 30 points per game.

Brown has had a ton of success against the Pacers, scoring 26, 40, and 24 points in the first three games. During the regular season, Brown scored 25, 40, 31, and 30 points in his previous four games against Indiana. His innate ability to attack and finish in the paint is crucial to his success. The Pacers allowed the second-most points in the paint in the NBA this season, behind only the Washington Wizards, and I expect Brown to continue to attack the rim and the offensive glass. He has scored 16.7 points per game in the paint, which is the most of any player in the conference finals. Tatum trails him with 12 points per game in the paint.

The Pacers have struggled to defend opposing guards, allowing the second-most points per game to shooting guards during the regular season. This sets the stage for Brown to shine again.

Celtics SF Jayson Tatum Over 9½ Rebounds

Our second pick will be Jayson Tatum, to finish with at least 10 rebounds. There is a discrepancy in the price on Tatum to record a double-double at -150 with his odds to go over 9½ rebounds tonight at (-132). The sportsbook expects him to record a double-double so why not take the better price on Tatum’s rebounds? We have trusted Tatum throughout the playoffs thus far, and he keeps delivering.

Tatum has stepped up his rebounding this season and finished with double-digit rebounds in four of five games against the Miami Heat in Round 1. He had at least ten rebounds in four of five games in the second-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tatum has recorded at least 10 rebounds in all ten of 11 playoff wins. His only misses came in Boston’s two playoff losses and in Game 2 against the Pacers.

Tatum finished with at least ten boards in three of four meetings against the Pacers in the regular season. In the playoffs, Tatum is leading the Celtics with 14.5 rebound chances per game; the next closest Celtics are Al Horford, with just 11.5 rebound chances, and Brown, with 10.6 chances. Tatum has at least ten rebounds in six of his last seven close-out games!

He has double-digit rebounds in 7 of 9 games this postseason since Kristaps Porzingis went down and 12 of his last 21 games overall without him. The Celtics have announced Porzingis will continue to sit out after he suffered a calf injury back in the First Round series against the Heat. The Pacers allowed the fourth-most rebounds per game to opposing small forwards during the regular season. Trust Tatum to continue to lead his team on a path to the Finals.

Celtics PG Payton Pritchard Over 6½ Points

With my final pick tonight, I’m going with a role player for the Celtics. I’m buying the dip and this extremely low number on the Celtics’ top scorer off the bench with Porzingis still out. Payton Pritchard’s role has significantly increased this season, and he’s been playing significant minutes. His ability to contribute on both ends of the court and provide a spark off the bench makes him a strong candidate for this prop bet. I expect the referees to be on the Pacers’ side at home, which could lead to early foul trouble for some Boston starters.

Despite coming off the bench, Pritchard is averaging a career-high 21.8 minutes per game in the playoffs. He is over this line in two of three in this series. He exceeded this line in five of five games when playing at least 20 minutes against the Pacers. History suggests the Celtics should walk away with a win tonight as favorites of 4½ points or more in a close-out game have gone 10-2 ATS over the last 10 seasons.

If this is the case, Pritchard will be on the floor plenty in the fourth quarter if this is a blowout. In both Celtic close-out wins against the Heat and Cavaliers, he finished with 7 and 11 points. With his scoring ability and the lack of scoring options off the bench, this betting line is a gift. Fire up Pritchard ahead of tonight’s game!
