Loss Halts Momentum for Clippers

It had seemed like the Clippers were trending in the right direction over the last few games before losing to the Nuggets, winning four of their previous five. However, the loss to the Nuggets exposed the Clippers’ overall offensive issues, making it hard for the team to be included in picks and parlays in the NBA.

Even though Kawhi Leonard had 31 points, it took him 26 shots, while the rest of the critical offensive threats struggled. Paul George, who had gradually become the offensive leader recently, shot 2 of 13 from the field for six points. Furthermore, James Harden took a back seat in the game, taking only seven shots for 11 points and only having four assists despite a positive plus/minus.

The Clippers did get a surprise big game from Ivica Zubac with 23 points and 14 rebounds, including eight boards on the offensive end. Russell Westbrook also had a solid night off the bench with a triple-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

This team is still getting used to Harden, who has only played 11 games with the Clippers. Having four former All-Stars on a roster has led to a few issues on the offensive end. Till that gets figured out, NBA betting needs to look at Los Angeles with some speculation.

In the final group stage game of the first In-Season NBA Tournament, the Kings beat the Warriors to advance to the quarterfinals. Sacramento went undefeated in the West Group C, winning back-to-back tournament games against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Warriors to advance.

NBA odds were not on the Kings’ side in the game against the Timberwolves after having lost the last two games on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans. However, before those two losses, the Kings had been on a six-game win streak. De’Aaron Fox helped things get re-settled against the Timberwolves with 36 points and 12 assists in the 124-111 win.

The win over the Warriors was a much more balanced game by the Kings. Fox put up big numbers again with 29 points, nine rebounds and seven assists but got a lot of help. Kevin Huerter scored 21, hitting four threes, while Domantas Sabonis had 10 assists. Furthermore, Monk came up big, scoring 21 off the bench and the last five points, including a game-winning shot with seven seconds left.

It seems like the two losses to the Pelicans on the road for the Kings were just a speed bump, and how they have played over the last two games is more accurate for NBA lines. The Kings have the shot-makers to go toe-to-toe with just about any team in the league and the defense just needs to be a little more reliable.

After such a big win, it does seem like the Kings are back to being one of the hottest teams in the league. They have won eight of the last 10 games while the Clippers are coming off a matchup they should have won. That does lean NBA picks in favor of the Kings to extend their home winning streak to five in a row.
