The Mavericks could struggle to contain LeBron James and Luka Doncic, and it all comes down to attitude for the Lakers. When they’re focused, they can beat any team in the NBA, and the Mavs aren’t on the same level.

Leg 2: Over 227 Points

The line is lower than I expected, so I’m including over 227 points in my NBA props. They might have gone under this total in their previous two meetings, but the points have been flowing recently. The Lakers scored 126 and 120 points in their two meetings with Oklahoma City, and the Thunder have a good defense. They could put up a bigger total on a Mavericks’ defense that allowed 135 points against the Clippers.

Leg 3: Luka Doncic Over 31.5 Points

Say what you want about the call that saw Luka Doncic ejected from Tuesday’s game against the Thunder, but he could rebound with a big scoring performance. The Lakers were outscored 22-8 when he left the game, so he’s an important piece of the Lakers puzzle. He is averaging 28.1 points per game, and my NBA predictions today have him bouncing back with a big scoring night. It’s about attitude for Doncic, and a little anger should see him drop 32+ points.

Leg 4: Anthony Davis Double-Double

My NBA prop picks include Anthony Davis to score a double-double. He had 27 points and nine rebounds against the Clippers, and I’m backing him to post a similar total in his first game since his former team.

The Lakers are likely to put up a lot of shots, so he should grab plenty of boards, and scoring 10 points or more is a given. They need a strong showing from Davis to have any chance to win, so expect their leader to stand up.
