Visiting Los Angeles Slight Underdog on Road

Wins Hard to Come By

With only two wins between the Los Angeles Lakers vs San Antonio Spurs from their last 10 games, desperation is seeking in for both clubs.

The Spurs have lost four on the bounce, but NBA betting lines have installed them as favorites to beat the Lakers, who come off an overdue win.

Lakers vs Spurs Preview, Odds, Picks & Predictions

It could be a season-defining game on Monday night, so we’re expecting a tight affair.

Let’s check the latest news, stats, injury reports, and NBA odds for Lakers vs Spurs. We’ve plenty of predictions for you to consider.

Panic Setting in for Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers were in panic stations before beating the Golden State Warriors 124-116, but they’re not out of the woods yet.

They are currently 28-35 and 9-19 on the road, which is why NBA odds have the Lakers as road underdogs against the San Antonio Spurs.

Beating the Warriors was a surprise result and it required 56 points from LeBron James, who became the oldest player to record 50-plus points and 10-plus rebounds in a game.

“Right now, I don’t give a damn about the 56,” James told NBA.com. “I’m just happy we got a win. We need pretty much all of them.”

Teammate Russell Westbrook, who will potentially start off the bench, needs to lift his game to match James. He hasn’t found his groove since donning the yellow and purple uniform, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t be effective.

Bettors have had a rough time betting on the Lakers, who are 27-35-1 against the spread. They have a 1-3-1 ATS record over the last five games, but they’re 4-1 ATS in the last five games against the Spurs in San Antonio.

Spurs Needing Giddy Up

Playoff basketball is all but off the table for the San Antonio Spurs, who are struggling at 24-40.

They did amazingly well to beat the Washington Wizards 157-153 in double-overtime, but they have subsequently lost four in a row.

Despite losing to the likes of Sacramento and Charlotte, the Spurs are the -2 favorites to beat the Lakers with NBA lines.

The most disappointing thing is their 11-19 home record, which won’t please head coach Gregg Popovich. They can’t seem to find any momentum at AT&T Center, which has been San Antonio’s calling card for the last few seasons.

We’re worried about the status of Dejounte Murray, who picked up a calf injury in the 123-117 loss to Charlotte. Murray is averaging 20.4 points so if he’s not on court, the Lakers could pile on the offense pressure.

The Spurs have been a solid bet at 32-31-1 and their record as a two-point favorite stands out at 5-2. They have been an excellent bet as a favorite at 12-8-1, which is why the sportsbook has them favored to win.

Lakers vs Spurs Head-to-Head

The San Antonio Spurs hold a 3-2 advantage in the last five meetings against the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was easy work for the Spurs when winning 138-110 in December, but it was the Lakers who dominated the matchup prior. They went 7-1 over an eight-game stretch, but that was a very different Lakers outfit.

The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings.

Lakers vs Spurs Betting Lines

Lakers vs Spurs Prediction

Their recent success against the San Antonio Spurs put the Los Angeles Lakers on top.

We’ll happily take the +2 points after their confidence levels rose against the Warriors and we think they could go on a winning run.

The Spurs have been a better bet, but if Murray isn’t playing, they’ll be shorthanded and we can’t take that risk.

We expect the line to shift in favor of the Lakers, so take the +2 before it moves. We would be prepared to take the Lakers at even-money.

Pick: Los Angeles Lakers +2
