Lakers vs Timberwolves Prediction, Picks and NBA Playoff Odds for April 27: Minnesota Goes For the Kill

The Minnesota Timberwolves smell blood and can move to cornering the Los Angeles Lakers in a pivotal Game 4 of the teams’ first-round series on Sunday. Minnesota took care of the Lakers despite a 38-point outing from LeBron James on Friday night. Now, the NBA playoffs betting lines expect Minnesota to beat Los Angeles again, albeit still in a close game. We concur with the odds and are banking on the Timberwolves to pull within a win of a series victory.

Lakers vs Timberwolves NBA Playoffs Prediction

Minnesota was not perfect in Game 3 but still comfortably beat the Lakers thanks to a late surge. This should worry Lakers fans, especially with Luka Doncic playing awfully. We expect Doncic to put up a better effort for Game 4, but Minnesota is just better equipped to win. One of our NBA playoff picks is for the host team to win and go up 3-1 in the series.

Timberwolves 115, Lakers 108.

Lakers vs Timberwolves Best NBA Player Props Today

  • Timberwolves F Jaden McDaniels 2+ Steals (+150)

Jaden McDaniels proved all the naysayers wrong by erupting for 30 points in Game 3. We don’t think he scores that many points again, but we will bet on him to keep getting steals. The forward has swiped the ball at least twice in five of his last eight games against the Lakers. This is one of the bigger “steals” of the NBA player props for this game.

  • Lakers G Austin Reaves Under 18.5 Points (-114)

Critics were hard on Doncic for his subpar last two games. But Austin Reaves has been a non-factor. The Lakers’ third-best player has been held to 17.3 points  per game and a .422 field-goal percentage (FG%), which is nearly identical to his three regular-season games against Minnesota. Bet on him to go under his scoring prop in Game 4.

  • Timberwolves G Anthony Edwards Over 40.5 Pts+Reb+Ast (-122)

This is Anthony Edwards’ chance to bury another legend. He led Minnesota to a sweep of Kevin Durant’s Suns last year. Now, he can give the Timberwolves a nearly insurmountable lead over James. He’s averaging 25.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in the series. More notably, his FG% is creeping up with each game. Bet his combo prop to go over.

Lakers vs Timberwolves Moneyline Pick

The Timberwolves will not only beat the Lakers in this game and in this series, but they will be solid bets on the odds for the NBA championship. Minnesota remains a tough darkhorse given its combination of youth, defensive chops, and a budding superstar in Edwards.

Bet on Timberwolves ML (-155)

Lakers vs Timberwolves Spread Pick

Minnesota covering against the spread (ATS) is among our NBA predictions tonight. It is 8-4 ATS in its last 12 games, while the Lakers are 2-4 ATS in their last six against the Wolves. The Lakers’ defense and depth beyond their three best players are suspect, so we expect Minnesota to play better through 48 minutes. Bet Minnesota ATS.

Bet on Timberwolves -3.5 (-105)

Lakers vs Timberwolves Over/Under Pick

The total is too low on the NBA odds. Minnesota is known as a defensive team, but it has turned up its offense. The Timberwolves’ 120.4 offensive rating post-All-Star break is the third-highest in the league. It goes up at home, hence why 60.9% of its games have gone over the total (25-17). Bet the over.

Bet on Lakers vs Timberwolves Over 209 (-110)
