Doncic has Dallas Running Hot
Sixers Hoping to Cool Off Mavs
The Philadelphia 76ers will look to halt the red-hot Dallas Mavericks at Wells Fargo Center.
Back-to-back buzzer beaters by Spencer Dinwiddie have helped the Mavs to a 2-0 start on their four-game East Coast road trip, with his most recent effort coming against his former team on his return to Brooklyn.

Let’s take a look at the latest news, stats, injury updates and NBA odds for Mavericks vs 76ers.
Let’s check the latest news, stats, injury reports, and NBA odds for Mavericks vs 76ers Warriors. We’ve plenty of predictions for you to consider.
Dallas Streaking at Right Time
The Dallas Mavericks continue their push for a top-four seed in the West, with the team quietly winning eight of their last nine games.
Two dramatic wins against top-tier Eastern Conference opponents in the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets have certainly helped propel the team to the forefront of conversation at the moment. They’ll get a chance to add another notch to their belt when battling with Joel Embiid and James Harden.
The three-guard lineup of Dinwiddie, Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson has certainly added a different dimension to the team’s offense and has allowed head coach Jason Kidd the luxury of having a playmaker on the court at all times during his rotations.
In fact, we spoke about how this new-look lineup creates these perimeter looks for its shooters in our NBA betting preview leading up to the Brooklyn game.
Regardless of rotation, though, the team continues to ride the coattails of Doncic, who was again remarkable in that comeback win against the Nets as he posted 37 points to go with nine rebounds and nine assists.
Sixers Sputtering vs Top Teams
It’s certainly fair to say the Philadelphia 76ers aren’t quite the polished product as they continue to work through fully integrating Harden into their lineup.
Doc Rivers’ side has gone 3-3 in their last six games, with all three losses coming against top-tier playoff caliber opposition.
Things won’t get any easier for the Sixers, who have the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat on deck after this one.
The biggest point of difference in this game will ultimately come down to the availability of MVP leader Embiid. The All-Star center is currently listed as questionable with back soreness and given his track record with injuries, it’s always difficult to predict whether the team will look to rest him to avoid compounding any lingering issues.
If Embiid does sit, the market will almost certainly flip to Dallas as favorites, which doesn’t bode well for Philadelphia outside of the obvious on-court differences.
The Sixers are 3-5 straight up and ATS this season as home underdogs, owning a horrible -8.6 average margin.
The Mavs are 13-3 straight up as road favorites, owning a 10-6 ATS record in those spots.
Mavericks vs 76ers Head-to-Head
The Dallas Mavericks were 107-98 winners in the earlier meeting in February, with Dallas also covering the spread as 1½ -point underdogs that night.
Last season, the Sixers completed a two-game sweep of the Mavs that included a 111-97 win here in Philadelphia – they also went 2-0 ATS. That made up for a series sweep that went in Dallas’ favor the previous season.

Mavericks vs 76ers Prediction
The Dallas Mavericks are playing consistent basketball at both ends of the floor, which is not something you can say about the Philadelphia 76ers.
The online sports betting world has been high on the Sixers since the Harden trade went down, but after a hot start, they’re certainly cooling off as a market commodity worth riding.
While the Sixers offense is scoring well, it’s extremely reliant on two things: the star duo getting to the line with regularity and hot shooting from Tyrese Maxey.
Dallas does a terrific job of defending without fouling and are top-10 on the season in opponent free throw rate.
The Mavs also do an excellent job of shutting down the driving lanes for opposing guards, which if executed in this matchup will drastically limit what Philly’s offense is capable of through Harden and Maxey.
Even with the potential mismatch presented by Embiid, the wider matchup advantages sit with the Mavs and I think we’ll again see Doncic’s poise down the stretch proving the difference.
Grab an early number on the Mavs here if you’re betting online with the potential Embiid update set to have strong implications on the market if he is forced to sit.
Pick: Dallas Mavericks +2½
