1. Close Games Giving Mavericks Strength

Losing three consecutive games by a combined margin of six points can make or break a game, but we think the close losses will strengthen the Mavericks.

Being only 1-3 on the road is the major concern, but they haven’t faced easy teams such as the Jazz, who are 0-5 at home. The Jazz may have won a couple recent games, but they aren’t close to being on the same playing field as the Mavericks, hence the betting support.

Languishing at the bottom of the Northwest standings, the Jazz need to start winning games. They are in danger of quickly falling into oblivion, which is a shame given how well they played at times in 2023-24.

They looked good when beating the inexperienced San Antonio Spurs 111-110, and wins like that could give them confidence. However, 2024-25 may be another year the Jazz give up in the hopes of selecting the next Donovan Mitchell, who they traded away.
