Monday’s Best NBA Player Props: Dishing With Beal, VanVleet

A new week is here, and the end of the NBA regular season is just three weeks away. The playoff races in each conference are heating up, and so are our NBA predictions. We’re coming off of another profitable week, so let’s stay hot with our best NBA bets today.

The NBA’s wacky weekend results didn’t disappoint. On Saturday, the Wizards notched an extremely rare win over the Raptors. When looking at the latest NBA futures odds, the Houston Rockets could have some value. They have won eight straight games and are creeping closer to the 10th spot, poised to overtake the Warriors in the Play-In.

Monday’s Best NBA Player Props: Dishing With Beal, VanVleet

Sunday delivered more memorable moments this season, highlighted by the Lakers’ 150-145 win over the Pacers in their highest-scoring game since 1987. The NBA playoff races are scorching hot, and the West is currently a gauntlet.

Monday night’s schedule features an insane 11 matchups and teams have plenty of motivation, whether for the playoffs or tanking purposes. The injury reports constantly move our NBA betting lines, but I’ve identified a few spots to take advantage of.

Here are the best NBA player prop bets for Monday.

Best NBA Player Props Today

1. NBA Prop Pick: Rockets PG Fred VanVleet Over 7½ Assists (-167)

The Houston Rockets are riding an eight-game win streak when they host the Portland Trail Blazers. I’m going back to the well with point guard Fred VanVleet. Houston is still without starting center Alperen Sengun. Sengun was leading Houston in usage, so some other guys have had to step up in his absence.

Veteran point guard VanVleet is one of those guys. FVV has 7, 12, 11, 16, 9 and 7 assists in the six games since Sengun went down. The Blazers give up the ninth-most assists per game in the NBA, and FVV averages 14 potential assists during the season. That number has increased to 15.2 potential in the six games without Sengun. He has seven and 10 assists in the two matchups with Portland this season. I would play this up to 8½. I’m firing up FVV again with confidence.

2. NBA Prop Pick: Celtics PG Derrick White Over 14½ Points (-130)

The Celtics are obvious contenders this season, but they are in a funky spot tonight when they take on the Atlanta Hawks. Boston will play their third game in four nights and fourth in six. Atlanta is the third stop on their current six-game, five-city road trip. Boston has already announced Jrue Holiday will sit tonight, opening the door for Derrick White to do damage.

White has scored 16, 18 and 15 points in three matchups against Atlanta’s Dejounte Murray. He is over this line in nine of 10 games without Holiday this season, including a 15-point game against the Hawks in November. He is averaging 15.4 points per game and 18.2 without Holiday. He’s over this line in three of his last four against Atlanta and four straight. The Hawks own the fifth-worst defensive rating in the NBA, so we can trust White even with the travel schedule spot for Boston.

3. NBA Prop Pick: Suns SG Bradley Beal Over 6½ Assists (+110)

The Phoenix Suns will play the San Antonio Spurs in a rare spot tonight, playing the same team in the same city. Phoenix is fighting to get out of the Play-In and can’t afford to lose any winnable games like this one, and the Suns just steamrolled the Spurs 131-106 over the weekend. It appears Bradley Beal is starting to find his niche with his new team, and he’s taking a back seat as a scorer. However, he’s excelling in his role as a distributor.

Beal has six straight games with at least seven assists, and he’s over this line in nine of 12 games since the All-Star break. Beal is over this line in 20 of 35 healthy games with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, including 13 of his last 15. The Spurs are allowing the fifth-most assists per game, and Beal is averaging 11 potential assists in March. In the meeting with the Spurs over the weekend, Beal finished with a season-high 12 assists. Bank on Beal at plus-money.

4. NBA Prop Pick: Kings PF Domantas Sabonis Over 14½ Rebounds (-127)

Domantas Sabonis has become a player you must be selective with when wagering on his prop bets. The oddsmakers have all of his lines inflated, but for good reason. He leads the NBA in rebounding with 13.7 per game and averages 14 rebounds per game at home. He has pulled down at least 15 boards in 27 of 70 games (38.5%) and in 15 of 33 at home (45.5%).

The Kings host the 76ers and are 9½-point favorites. Without Joel Embiid, the 76ers lack the interior size to defend someone of Sabonis’ caliber. Since the start of February, when Joel Embiid went down, the Sixers have allowed the fifth-most rebounds per game. In the previous meeting, Sabonis finished with 12 rebounds this season, and Philly beat Sacramento 112-93.

I’m expecting the Kings to be out for revenge, and with the Sixers playing on the second night of a back-to-back with travel, their tired shooting legs will lead to more rebounding chances for the NBA leading boardman.
