NBA Friday Parlay Picks: Sandwich T-Wolves, Knicks Around an Over

If you rode with us Wednesday for our parlay offering, then you truly had something to be thankful for during the holiday. We nailed a trifecta of picks, and feel pretty confident going into our NBA parlay picks today, which are detailed below.

Timberwolves Should Cover Again

Minnesota is 7-0 against the spread at home. That’ll end at some point, but as we’ve said often in the past, it’s great to ride a trend until you just can’t anymore. As it stands, the team with the best record in the Western Conference is barely favored (-4½) at home against a Sacramento squad that has lost two in a row.

The Timberwolves’ average margin of victory in its last three home games is 17 points. The game before that was closer but it was a win over the mighty Boston Celtics. Minnesota is turning the Target Center into a pretty tough place to play, with a stifling defense to boot.

The Kings are on the very last leg of a six-game road trip. It began with three straight wins, but two straight losses in New Orleans (one by 30 points) provided a dose of reality. Sacramento is a nice team with a budding superstar in De’Aaron Fox, but it wouldn’t stun us to see the Kings “settle” for a 3-3 trip and hit the reset button on Tuesday against Golden State after a long weekend off.

… Expect Warriors, Spurs to Pile up Points

The San Antonio Spurs can’t stop anyone. The Golden State Warriors, who don’t stop many, are due to run it up on someone real soon, having lost seven of their last eight. This has all the markings of a huge offensive game for them, with the potential for plenty of garbage-time points for both sides.

These teams combine to give up over 237 points per game, so just an average effort will yield a win on the over. Consider, too, that the teams are a combined 20-11 on the over this season.

Golden State won all three meetings last season, with the teams combining for an average of 243.0 points per contest. It’s a Friday night in San Fran and Steph is rested and well-fed. Take the over.

… And Lean on the Knicks in a Payback Game vs Heat

New York was eliminated from the playoffs last season on its home floor by the Miami Heat. A November contest at Madison Square Garden doesn’t have quite the same energy, but it’ll be hopping nonetheless. It’s the Friday night of a holiday weekend and the Knicks are eager to make a statement against the rival Heat.

Throw in the fact that New York is well-rested, having not played since Monday’s game at Minnesota. Then you have some real injury concerns for Miami, as starters Bam Adebayo (hip) and Duncan Robinson (thumb) are both questionable for this one. Tyler Herro (ankle) remains sidelined and reserve defensive stalwart Dru Smith went down with a knee injury at Cleveland on Wednesday.

Miami has played more road games (10) than anyone in the league and it has to play again at Brooklyn on Saturday. Erik Spoelstra is going to have to be creative with his rotation and will rest players on either end of the back-to-back to get through this challenging couple of days.

Given all those factors, we like the Knicks to take control in the second half and win somewhat comfortably. Put that on your NBA bet slip when you bet on basketball for Friday night.

NBA Parlay Pick: Knicks -5½

Questions Of The Day

Which NBA teams are the most profitable to parlay?

The Thunder and Magic remain atop the against-the-spread standings, while the Pacers are 13-1 on the over. If you’ve played those three together, you’ve done well.

Which NBA player props are the best to parlay?

Breaking down a points over/under is usually the simplest way to include a player prop. Analyzing a player’s past vs a particular team, how he likes to attack and how the opponent defends that particular zone – these can all give you a good idea of what will happen in that matchup.
