NBA Parlays and Picks: Hawks, Magic Top Bets for Monday, April 1st

Our NBA predictions were on point last week, and I’m looking to kick off the new week with a bang. With just two weeks left to go, it’s much easier to distinguish the contenders from the pretenders. We cashed in nearly half of our longshot parlays last month, and I’m looking to kick off April with a bang.

The playoff races are heating up, and the NBA standings are constantly shifting. We have a beautiful schedule to kick off our week on Monday night with six games set to tip. I’m going to build our parlay bet using a combination of NBA ATS picks and NBA player props.

NBA Parlays and Picks: Hawks, Magic Top Bets for Monday

With so many games to break down and select our picks from, I’m loading up a four-leg parlay. You can always do a ton of your research, but the trick is I’ve already done that work for you. Let’s get into the best NBA bets for tonight.

Monday NBA Parlay Picks

1. NBA Parlay Pick: Pistons C Jalen Duren to Record a Double-Double (-233)

Jalen Duren has been a cash cow for us all season, and I’m not looking to fade him. This has undoubtedly been one of my top NBA bets online this season. Duren has averaged a double-double this season with 13.8 points and 12 rebounds. The second-year center for the Pistons is quietly enjoying a breakout season. He has a double-double in 41 of 55 starts — a 74.5% hit rate. The oddsmakers are finally catching on, but this bet is still excellent for helping build our parlay odds. The 20-year-old center is coming off a dominant performance against the Washington Wizards, where he posted 20 points and 17 rebounds.

Tonight, the Detroit Pistons host the Memphis Grizzlies, another rare winnable game on their schedule. The Grizzlies allow the second-most rebounds per game in the NBA behind the Wizards. Duren finished with a double-double in the first meeting this season.. We can fire him up again tonight with confidence for the first leg of our parlay.

2. NBA Parlay Pick: Hawks C Clint Capela to Record a Double-Double (-136)

With our next NBA bet, I’m rolling with a veteran center. Clint Capela and the Atlanta Hawks travel to take on the Chicago Bulls. Atlanta is without Onyeka Okongwu, and Jalen Johnson is questionable again tonight. Capela has taken on a more significant role with both young guys out. This season, Capela averages 11.4 points and 10.5 rebounds.

He has recorded a double-double in nine of his last 10 games without Johnson in the lineup this season. He has a double-double in 12 of his previous 14 games against the Bulls and four of his last five on the road in Chicago. The Bulls are decent at defending opposing centers thanks to the duo of Nikola Vucevic and Andre Drummond, but they are in the bottom half of the NBA in rebounds allowed per game.

3. NBA Parlay Pick: Hawks +2½ at Bulls

We’re backing Clint Capela in this Hawks-Bulls matchup because I believe the Hawks are the right side tonight. This is a classic fade spot for me in the NBA. The Bulls are playing on the second night of a back-to-back and are coming off a massive upset win on the road over the Minnesota Timberwolves. This is a letdown spot for the Bulls, who had to travel late Sunday night.

Chicago is playing its third game in four nights and its fourth game in six nights. The Bulls are an older team and will show tired legs by the second half against this younger Hawks team. The Bulls are 12-23 straight up after a win, and the Hawks are 8-5 ATS with a rest advantage. The Bulls defeated Atlanta in their first two meetings this season, setting up a classic double revenge spot for the Hawks. Atlanta’s Dejounte Murray has been playing at an MVP level since Trae Young went down, and we can trust him to produce in a game that could come down to the wire.

4. NBA Parlay Pick: Magic -16 vs Trail Blazers

The Orlando Magic are the second-best team against the spread at home (25-12). They are the best team overall ATS at 48-26. Orlando has posted a 17-5 record ATS as a home favorite. The Magic are fifth in the Eastern Conference standings, one game behind the New York Knicks. Orlando is motivated to finish in the top four spots in the East to get home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

The Magic defeated Portland 102-97 in October as 4½-point favorites. This Trail Blazers roster looks much different now than it did then. Portland is without key players – Malcolm Brogdon, Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant – and Deandre Ayton is questionable. The Magic force many turnovers and Portland allows the second-most turnovers on the road. On their current road trip, Portland has lost by 18 points to Houston, 14 to Atlanta and 60 to Miami, with all three teams covering the spread. Orlando should roll in this game and cover this large number.
