The Cavaliers defeated the Washington Wizards 118-87 in their last game. That should not have much of an effect at BetUS Sportsbook because the Wizards are so bad, but it was a nice tune-up game for the Cavaliers to get ready now that they are facing a much tougher opponent.

Nuggets vs Cavaliers Picks: 2 Bets to Parlay on Dec 5

1. Cleveland Cavaliers ATS (-4)

After winning the first 15 games of the season, all of the Cavaliers’ losses have been over the last seven. Their first loss of the season came against the Boston Celtics, having been 6½ point underdogs despite having been undefeated. The Cavaliers lost that game 120-117.

However, the following two losses were shocking in back-to-back games against the Atlanta Hawks. At home, the Cavaliers were favored by 11, and then on the road, they were still favored, but this time by 5½.

Those two losses were surprising, but the Cavaliers have done what they can to turn NBA picks back in their favor. In the two games after the loss to the Hawks, the Cavaliers beat the Celtics and dominated the Wizards.

Both wins highlighted why the Cavaliers went on a 15-game winning streak to start the season. In the win over the Celtics, the stars came alive. Donovan Mitchell had 35 points, while Darius Garland added 22.

Then, against the Wizards, it was a completely different game plan. Mitchell only had 19 points, and Garland finished with 12. The whole roster stepped up in that win, as Evan Mobley scored 19, and the Cavaliers bench had 48 points. That balance is a big reason to back them, especially at home, for NBA predictions today.

Best Bet: Cavaliers -4

2. Nuggets vs Cavaliers Over 235.5

One thing that has helped the Cavaliers to the top of the Eastern Conference is their offense. They are averaging the most points per game this season (121.8) while having the second-best offensive rating (121.4). Their offense has star power with Mitchell and Garland, while the bench averages 38 points per game, the seventh most in the league.

Then there are the Nuggets. Their offense is also putting up big numbers, with the fifth-best offensive rating (116.7) and fifth-highest points per game (118.1). However, much of that goes through the reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic, who has won the award three times. Jokic is averaging 30.1 points, 13 rebounds, and 10.4 assists per game, putting together another MVP-caliber season. In the win over the Warriors, Jokic dominated with 38 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

However, after Jokic, there are some concerns. Jamal Murray averages 17.7 points per game but has been inconsistent, with a shooting percentage of 41.9%. I had backed the Nuggets to cover the spread against the Warriors, but Murray shooting 4-12 from the field led to them falling short. Then there is Michael Porter Jr., averaging 18.7 points per game but struggles to create his own shot, mostly playing off Jokic and Murray.

Despite that, the Nuggets got a crucial element of their roster back from injury, so NBA betting can see this game hit the over. In his second game back from injury and getting his first start since then, Aaron Gordon had 15 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Gordon is a player who raises the floor of the Nuggets offense, which can push this game towards the over.

Best Bet: Nuggets vs Cavaliers Over 235.5

Questions of the Day

Who will lead this game between the Nuggets and Cavaliers in scoring?

Jokic is too good not to think he will lead this game in points.

Is there a player prop to track in this matchup?

Because of the matchup in the paint, Jarrett Allen could struggle in this game, especially after he had three rebounds in the last game.
