In what should be an epic duel between the Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets, don’t read too much into the NBA betting odds siding heavily on Steph Curry’s Warriors. Even with the latest news, stats, and injury reports, visiting Denver is being underestimated here, especially with Nikola Jokic playing like the reigning MVP.
Curry Versus Jokic Headline Warriors-Nuggets Tilt
Hot Curry Fuels Golden State Warriors
If you were in a coma for the last six seasons, you’d think it was still the 2015-16 season. Stephen Curry is the MVP front-runner and the Warriors are on top of the NBA. Golden State has been on a tear. They are 16-2 at home, 21-10-2 against the spread (ATS) and are the best in net rating (10.5), with only the Utah Jazz being remotely close.

Curry will continue being the team’s offensive engine while Draymond Green has helped solidify the Warriors’ defense. Golden State has the best defensive rating. They are allowing the fewest rebounds and limiting opponents to just a 49.6 percent effective field goal rate.
Health and safety protocols, however, have taken out several key contributors for the team, including Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Markus howard and Andre Iguodala. Wiggins is expected to rejoin the lineup against Denver but Green will miss the game after entering the health and safety protocols. Still, Golden State continues to be a popular bet on the online sports betting site.
Denver Nuggets Injury List is No Joke
Few teams have endured more absences than the Nuggets if we don’t count quarantine or COVID. Denver has already been without Jamal Murray (knee) and Michael Porter Jr. (back) for most of the season and now the likes of Aaron Gordon (hamstring) and Monte Morris (knee) are banged up.
Jokic was also hurt at one point but has since carried the team. The reigning MVP has a solid case to repeat if he can push Denver to a top-four spot in the crowded West. But with Denver hovering in the .500 range, Jokic is leading his team in every stat. Literally.
Denver is a middle-of-the-pack team in offense and defense with middling stats everywhere: 16-16 straight up, 7-9 as an underdog, and 9-9 in conference games. Hard to find an edge for this team.

Nuggets vs Warriors Prediction
Both these teams have a litany of absences and it seems reckless to bet online on a 7½-point favorite without one of its most important players: Green. His absence will significantly hamper Golden State’s defense. If this is the case, Jokic will find a way to make this a closer game than the odds indicate.
Take Denver and the points. And if Wiggins does not play (he is listed as probable), bet Denver straight-up. But, the Warriors are 5-0 ATS against Denver at home and could just find a way to win again … but not by more than seven points.
Pick: Denver Nuggets +7½
With the NBA’s best defense, 21 of the Warriors’ 33 games have gone under. This includes 11 of their 18 home games. Without Green, Golden State is a shell of itself and Denver gets into high-scoring road games (11-7 over/under record).
Pick: Over 217½
Parlay: Nuggets +7½ and Over 217½ (+264)
