Phoenix Suns at Chicago Bulls Game Preview, Odds, Picks & Predictions

Suns are burning the bookies

There is no NBA team currently hanging with the Phoenix Suns, eying a league-leading 43rd victory of season Monday night against the Chicago Bulls.

With a stacked and healthy roster, the Suns are favored to beat the hurting Bulls, who are nursing injuries to some of their star players.

Phoenix Suns vs Chicago Bulls

  • Game: Phoenix Suns (42-10) vs Chicago Bulls (33-19)

The Suns are Shining

The Phoenix Suns continue to hold firm atop of the Western Conference, winning nine of their last 10 games.

The lone blip came against the Atlanta Hawks as -3 favorites, though the Suns rebounded comfortably in a 95-80 victory Saturday at Washington.

Betting online markets had the Suns as underdogs only once in those last 10 games, a 115-109 win over Utah as a +1 ‘dog. However, they are strong choices to beat the Chicago Bulls.

The -8 line offers a fair representation of how well they’re playing. Facing the Bulls on the road shouldn’t pose a problem for a team that’s won 20 of its 25 games away from home.

Devin Booker is leading all scorers with 25.2 points per game, while Javale McGee has excelled in the absence of Deandre Ayton.

The Suns are 29-23 against the spread and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games, so the statistics are in favor of the Suns covering the number.

Bulls Hanging Tough

Having two of your team’s best players missing is tough, but the Chicago Bulls continue to fight for the Central division lead.

Not having Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine on the court is a huge blow for the Bulls, but with DeMar DeRozan playing lights out, Chicago has remained in the hunt.

DeRozan scored 45 points in a 119-108 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Sunday. Despite losing, it was an encouraging effort.

“We know we’re gonna get everybody back in due time,” DeRozan told ESPN. “Until then, we’re just trying to figure it out. We’re just trying to continue to get better, figure out our mistakes on the go.”

Despite the DeRozan heroics, it was the Bulls’ third loss from their last six games. They have slipped to 30-21-1 ATS which, while still impressive, had been better.

The sportsbook has adjusted its line to account for the injuries, which is why the Bulls are substantial; underdogs at home. Bettors would have jumped all over that a month ago, but here they’ll probably prefer red-hot Phoenix

Phoenix Suns vs Chicago Bulls Head-to-Head

The Phoenix Suns have dominated the recent series against the Chicago Bulls.

They have won the last three games, covering the spread in two games. That non-cover was a 121-116 win as -8½ favorites.

The under has cashed in three of the last four meetings.

Phoenix Suns vs Chicago Bulls Prediction

The injuries to the Chicago Bulls’ stars could be too much to overcome, especially versus the smooth-sailing Suns.

Laying eight points on the road is a tough situation for the bettors, but have confidence in the league-leading Suns. They don’t have many off nights, and unless DeRozan fires another 45 points, the Suns should cover.

Markets have fluctuated between -5½ and the current -8, but we would be prepared to wager the Suns, even at that number. They’re the class act and the best fourth-quarter team in the NBA and we can’t look past that.

Pick: Phoenix Suns -8 (-110)
