Raptors vs Nets Preview, Odds, Picks & Predictions

Atlantic Division a Tight Race

There are only 5½ games covering first to fourth in the Atlantic Division and the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets are in the mix.

The Nets have been doing it tough without their superstars, so they’ll be short-handed as they look to hold off the struggling Raptors.

NBA betting odds have the Raptors as road favorites to beat the preseason title favorites.

As well explore a variety of other NBA odds here to win!

Raptors Playing Like Dinosaurs

It might seem harsh to call them dinosaurs, but the Toronto Raptors’ offense has dried up to extreme levels.

They have scored totals of 100, 93, 103, and 90 points in their last four games, which isn’t going to get it done against most NBA teams.

Despite not covering the betting online spread in four of their last five games, they have still been a good bet. They are 34-25 against the spread overall, so they deserve respect for being a quality betting team.

The Raptors also have an excellent record against the Nets. They are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Brooklyn and 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.

The Nets are 2-0 straight up, but the most recent game at Barclays was decided by two points (131-129) when Kevin Durant had 34 points.

Bettors could have a tough time backing the Raptors based on their recent form. They come off a 127-100 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, which didn’t impress coach Nick Nurse.

“We revved our motor pretty hard in the second and you shut down at the halftime break and we didn’t seem able to rev it back up,” Nurse told ESPN. “That’s not a good sign that two nights in a row that happened. We know we have the capability of playing better. We’ve got to dig in.”

Nets Doing it Tough

Kyrie Irving gave the Brooklyn Nets a much-needed boost against the Milwaukee Bucks, but they’ll be without him against the Toronto Raptors.

The Nets are without Irving, Durant, Ben Simmons and Joe Harris, so it’s a tough ask. They are depleted, which is why the sportsbook has the Nets as the home underdogs.

Bettors have struggled with the Nets, who are 24-35-2 against the spread. They have covered only four of their last 10 games and they failed to cover five of those spreads by double digits.

It doesn’t make for good reading and they’re struggling with consistent roster lineups, which doesn’t help their cause.

For the Nets to be successful and cover the spread against Toronto, they will need to rely on the bench to score. We’re not sure if they’re in the right mindset for that to happen.

Raptors vs Nets Head-to-Head

The Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets have met on five occasions since February last year and it’s a 3-2 split in favor of the Nets.

The most recent meeting went to overtime where the Nets prevailed 131-129, but it was the Raptors covering the +4½ spread.

Toronto has covered the spread in five of the last seven meetings.

Raptors vs Nets Betting Lines

Raptors vs Nets Prediction

The Toronto Raptors haven’t been great offensively of late, but we can’t lay money on the depleted Brooklyn Nets.

Overcoming a raft of omissions could be too much for the home side, so this is an ideal time for the Raptors to regain their edge.

The current line is -4 and we’re happy to include that in our NBA best bets. We would also add the under 219 as we see it being a low-scoring affair.

Pick: Toronto Raptors -4

Pick: Under 219
