If you’re watching the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings at 10 p.m. on a weekend, we question your life decisions. But if you’ve got money on the NBA betting lines, know that the Kings are the favorites. The latest news, stats, and injury reports don’t have too many prominent figures listed so peg Sacramento as the likely winner.
Houston Rockets (12-31) vs Sacramento Kings (17-27)
Kings Should Be Making Fun of Themselves
Oh, look. The Sacramento Kings tried to be funny by playing “Cold as Ice” every time Russell Westbrook missed a shot. Not only did Westbrook easily turn that on them but to prove how much of a jobber the franchise is, the NBA doubled down by barring them from doing this again.

when asked after the game about it, he said “that’s funny, i hope they played that the last 14 years too.”

It’s too easy to just spend half this NBA betting preview making fun of the Kings but it would be almost like picking on a kid who got their tongue stuck licking on a frozen pole. But what positive can we say about the Kings? They are 8-6 against teams below .500 and have wins over Phoenix, Dallas, and Miami.
As a home team, Sacramento is 11-14 and 4-5 as a favorite. The team is 26th with a -3.2 net rating.
Rockets Right on Schedule
Houston does not have that many bragging rights either. But at least, we all expected Houston to be a really bad team. The Rockets flirted with competence by going on a seven-game winning streak. But remove that and Houston has lost 31 of its 36 games including 13 of their last 16.
This team has plenty of flashy talent like Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green (when Porter Jr. is playing). But beyond their highlight reels and occasional scoring outbursts, Houston is a bottom-five team on both ends of the court.
There isn’t a lot of structure here, it’s like watching a college team if the team consisted of five and four-star recruits. But at least Houston is almost bettable on the sportsbook. As a road team, it is 11-11-1 against the spread.

Houston Rockets vs Sacramento Kings Prediction
The Kings upset the Lakers proving that they are not a decent team but the Lakers are this bad. Sacramento has a chance to win two straight games as a sizable favorite. The team is 5-1 when favored by four or more points this season but can we trust a team who is bad on both ends of the floor?
Houston may be worse, but the Rockets have pulled two straight upsets as a road underdog and against better teams in Washington and San Antonio. We’re not betting online for them to do it. But six points is enough room to work with so take the Rockets or punt this into the abyss.
Pick: Houston Rockets +6 (-110)
Or alternatively, bet on this game to be gangbusters on the scoreboard. We have two slack defensive teams who play fast-paced basketball. There will be plenty of shooting and not a lot of defending. Houston is giving up 117 points on the road and 12 of their last 15 have gone over.
