Score Big This Weekend: The Ultimate NBA, NHL, Boxing Parlay

The stakes couldn’t be any higher for the weekend given the start of the playoffs for the NBA and NHL and a mega-sized boxing title fight. Even better: the matchups we found on the boxing, NBA, and NHL betting lines constitute three intense rivalries. So there is more than money at stake with our cross-sport parlay. There is bad blood.

NBA: Nuggets Outlast Lakers

We like the Nuggets to handle business in a rematch against the Lakers. Denver has bettable NBA odds as long as their moneyline does not get shorter than -300. We still need to see how the Lakers can keep up with Denver. The Lakers are big and can match up with Denver. But the Nuggets have critical factors in their favor, hence why they swept Los Angeles last year.

The first is home-court advantage. It’s overstated how playing in Denver aids the Nuggets over their opponents. But when the Lakers have an old LeBron James and an oft-injured Anthony Davis as their best players, the Nuggets hold a significant endurance edge here. The Lakers were winded down the stretch versus the Pelicans despite pulling out a win.

Statistically, the Lakers are also -2.7 in the second half and are 24th in offensive rating. That won’t cut it against Denver, which is +9.4 in net rating and 4th in offensive rating at home. The Nuggets on the ML is one of the best NBA bets.

NHL: Bruins and Leafs Lig

The annual “Leafs lose to Bruins in Seven” is back. COVID happened and we haven’t seen this matchup since 2019. But the four-year absence changes nothing. These rivals will go at it like nothing’s changed. Toronto remains desperate to beat Boston, which could lead to a grueling battle.

Boston has won seven of the last 10 matchups with Toronto. The Leafs were held to an average of 2.6 goals per game in this span even if they outshot the Bruins. As much as we like Boston to beat Toronto again, the ‘over’ is the best bet online given the odds.

Four of these teams’ last five meetings went under the total. But we saw 60+ shots in four of these games. We think the goaltending overachieved in these games and it’s only a matter of time before we see a high-scoring matchup. The totals are a tad too low. Bank on six or more goals in this contest.

Boxing: Haney Takes Garcia to a Decision

Devin Haney may be frustrating to fans given his style and close decision wins. But for bettors, he is a “Dream” as his moniker states. The unbeaten two-division champ is just 25 but has the savvy of a much older boxer. And against Ryan Garcia, a dangerously quick puncher, and an old rival, he’ll be on top of his game.

The WBC super lightweight champion is familiar with Garcia as the pair fought six times in the amateur scene. While Garcia did win half of these contests, Haney has progressed much better in his career. We also can’t ignore how badly Garcia has looked since getting knocked out by Gervonta “Tank” Davis.

Since that loss, Garcia has seemingly spiraled. He’s had off-ring issues and looked awkward in his last win. If this is the “new” Garcia, Haney will school him throughout 12 rounds. Given the boxing betting lines, parlay the over.
