We Have Ourselves a Series
The Phoenix Suns were heading on the road for the first time in this playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks. Given that they were already up 2-0, they had a serious opportunity to nearly put this thing to bed with another win.
However, Dallas proved that it wasn’t going to happen. The Mavericks stormed out and finished with a 103-94 victory in front of their fans.
The win should give this group some life and maybe even cause the Suns to question themselves a little bit. Which of these teams will be able to come out and win the second game at Dallas?
Let’s take a closer look at this NBA game betting preview and see which side is the best option for those who bet online.
Turnovers Were the Difference for Suns
Most times, a stat like turnovers can tell a story as to went wrong for a specific team. In this case, Phoenix just couldn’t keep the ball for themselves enough.
The Suns ended with a whopping 17 turnovers as all five of the starters ended with a negative plus/minus. Looking at the stat sheet, nobody on Phoenix played poorly enough to stand out from the rest of the pack.
It was simply the turnovers and their lack of momentum on the road that caused their downfall. We haven’t seen this team crumble under adversity in the past, though, so don’t go and expect it to happen to the best-ranked team in the league.
Mavericks Finally Got Some Help
It took way too long but the Mavericks finally saw somebody else besides Luka Doncic lead the team in scoring. Doncic still dropped his usual 26 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, but Jalen Brunson was the star that showed out on this night.
He dropped 28 points, four boards and five assists. Throughout this series, we have consistently seen the Mavericks crumble when Doncic isn’t out on the floor.
He even dropped 40 plus points in one of those games and they still lost by a huge margin. Brunson has been keeping them going all postseason long. It is increasingly clear that his performance plays a big factor in when this team wins games or not.
Suns vs Mavericks Head-to-Head
The Suns had won all five of their season matchups against the Dallas Mavericks. However, the Mavericks just grabbed their first win of the season against Phoenix.

Suns vs Mavericks Prediction
Despite claiming a Game 3 victory, the Mavericks still find themselves listed as the underdogs versus the NBA odds. This time around, Phoenix is a 1.5-point favorite in the sportsbook.
There is a lot of hope for Dallas to keep this hot play moving forward given that they will be at home again. However, Phoenix has beaten them five times this season when you include the regular season and the playoffs.
There are veterans on this roster like Chris Paul and Jae Crowder that won’t buckle under the pressure or just one loss in a series that they are winning.
And all Phoenix really has to do here is take care of the turnovers. If they’re not as sloppy in Game 4 and if they can stop giving the Mavs easy opportunities, they should win. Expect Phoenix to turn it back around their direction and win Game 4.
