Thursday’s Best NBA Player Props: Duren, Harden Highlight

We kick off the final two months of the regular season on Thursday, featuring a beautiful 12-game slate. I’m looking to cash a sweep with my best NBA props bets today.

There are a handful of elite head-to-heads. The Knicks will battle the 76ers, looking to build on their success behind Jalen Brunson. The TNT doubleheader features Western Conference showdowns. The Mavericks play host to Kevin Durant and the Suns in the first game. The night will be capped with a Western Semifinal playoff rematch when Steph Curry leads the Warriors against Anthony Davis and the Lakers.

Another matchup worth noting is the current two and three seeds out West will battle when the Clippers take on the Thunder. Los Angeles has arguably been the best team in the NBA over the previous two months.

There are several games worth watching and plenty of player props to select from for Thursday. I’ve done the research, so you don’t have to. Let’s get to the best NBA bets tonight.

Best NBA Player Props Today

1. Nets PG Ben Simmons Over 11½ Rebounds/Assists

The Nets come out of the break on the road and will face the Toronto Raptors. Simmons has once again dealt with injuries, but he should be well-rested. By all reports, he remains on a minutes limit but has gone over this line in four of six games since returning from injury. He has recorded 19, 14, 16, 3, 8, and 14 rebounds and assists in those appearances.

The Nets are one of the few teams that won’t play back-to-back after the break. Simmons has received a steady increase in his minutes and played 24 in his final appearance before the break. The Raptors have allowed the fifth-most assists per game and are league average in rebounds allowed. On the season, Simmons is averaging 14.9 rebounds/assists per game. I think we keep buying low on him until the NBA betting lines adjust.

2. Jalen Duren Double-Double – Yes

This NBA bet is cut and dry. This is a spot I’m comfortable paying for the juice. Duren has been one of my favorite NBA picks all season. The second-year center for the Pistons is quietly enjoying a breakout season. He has a double-double in 27 of 38 starts – that’s a 71% hit rate. The current odds imply a 57% chance he will record a double-double against the Pacers. In the first matchup, he scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

The Pacers are tied with the 10-most rebounds allowed per game, and Indiana continues to own the worst defense in the paint. They allow a league-high 60.2 points in the paint per game. Duren dominates down low, scoring a ridiculous 87% of his points in the paint. The second-year pro faces minimal competition, with James Wiseman shipped off to the Wizards and Isaiah Stewart still on the injury report. Ride with Wiseman before the odds get inflated.

3. James Harden Over 4½ Rebounds (-371)

The matchup between the Clippers and the Thunder is one I am highly anticipating. The total opened up at 239 ½ but is quickly falling. I expect this game to be an exciting battle and the Clippers will need to show up on the defensive end to cash to outright upset on the road. I lean toward the Clippers side here, which means more rebounding opportunities for LA.

Harden has grabbed at least 5 rebounds in 11 of his last 14 games and in seven consecutive meetings with Oklahoma City, including two since joining the Clippers. The Clippers are expected to have a full lineup on Thursday out of the break, and Harden hasn’t seen a dropoff with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the floor. The Thunder are allowing the fourth-most rebounds per game, and I’m all in on them to continue their push for the top seed out West.
