Timberwolves vs Nuggets Prediction, Odds and NBA Picks Friday, March 29

Western Conference front-runners will battle it out again when the Denver Nuggets host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. The meeting will be the third between the two teams, with each having one once so far. Both teams have been in a battle, along with the Oklahoma City Thunder, for first in the West all season long. It remains tightly contested as the season winds down, with Denver leading by just a half-game. The Nuggets are favored at home, but NBA bets for March 29 should have the Timberwolves covering the spread.

  • The Nuggets have put up an ATS record of 34-39-0 this season.
  • The Timberwolves have a 38-34-0 ATS record.
  • When the spread is set as 6.5 or more this season, Denver (17-18) covers a lower percentage of those games when it is the favorite (48.6%) than Minnesota (2-0) does as the underdog (100%).

Timberwolves vs Nuggets ATS Pick: Timberwolves +7

Though this is a game the Nuggets should ultimately win, the Timberwolves should be able to take them down to the wire and cover the spread.

Minnesota has a solid 24-13 record on the road, and despite missing all of its bigs in Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid the last time it played Denver, Minnesota was still able to cover then as well, falling by three.

The Timberwolves could once again be without both KAT and Gobert. The former remains sidelined while Gobert, along with Anthony Edwards, are questionable. However, as previously noted, others on the team have shown the ability to step up in their place. Minnesota’s defense has remained strong as well, allowing 102.2 points in its last five games, which won’t go well for Denver if it’s missing a key piece too.

Jamal Murray has missed the last three games and is also questionable for the Nuggets, who had one of their worst offensive outings in their last game, putting up just 97 points in a loss to Phoenix. If Murray can’t go again, that could spell more trouble for Denver’s offense.

With the number of big names questionable ahead of this matchup, be sure to check the lineups before making your NBA bets. Edwards or Murray sitting could have a big outcome for both teams, but Minnesota should be able to cover if the former is starting.

Timberwolves vs Nuggets Player Prop Pick: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Over 1.5 3-Pointers Made (-145)

Caldwell-Pope has been one of the Nuggets’ stronger 3-point shooters, and he has picked it up even more the past couple months, shooting it at a 43.8% and 44.9% clip in February and March, respectively. Caldwell-Pope has remained consistent through the end of the month as well, knocking it down at a 48.3% mark in his last six games. He’s made at least two 3-pointers in five of those six games.

In his two games against the Wolves this season, Caldwell-Pope is 3-for-5 on 3-pointers, At home, he is shooting it at a 44.9% mark from long range. If Murray isn’t good to go again, expect Caldwell-Pope to be the go-to from beyond the arc once again, but he should still be a solid NBA player prop even if Murray is back in the lineup.
