Minnesota Timberwolves ATS -14

The Minnesota Timberwolves may not be the team they were last year, but the Washington Wizards? I’m confident the Timberwolves will take care of business at Capital One Arena and cover the spread.

Sure, the Wizards now have SG Jordan Poole (21.8 points per game) back in the lineup, which definitely helps. However, the Wizards are running thin offensively after that, and it doesn’t help that PG Malcolm Brogdon is still battling a foot injury and is listed as out (per updated Timberwolves vs. Wizards injuries).

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are hitting their stride on both ends of the court. They’ve won three of their last four and seem to have found a groove. Leading the way is SG Anthony Edwards (25.4 points), and C Rudy Gobert doing his thing – cleaning the glass and locking down the paint, averaging a double-double (10.1 points, 10.5 rebounds).

Not only am I banking on the Timberwolves to cover the spread, but for my NBA player prop pick I’m doubling down on SG Anthony Edwards to score more than 25 points tonight – it feels like a layup.

Let’s call it what it is: the Wizards are a defensive disaster. They’re giving up a league-worst 122.3 points per game, which practically screams, “Come torch us!” Edwards is coming off two subpar games offensively, failing to crack 22 points in either, but this matchup against the league’s worst defense is the perfect setup for him to get back in the zone.

3. Wizards SF Kyle Kuzma Under 15.5 Points (-122)

The Timberwolves defense will definitely have their way tonight against a weaker Washington Wizards offense, and it’s going to be an uphill battle for SF Kyle Kuzma. I’m expecting him to finish the game with less than 16 points for my second NBA player prop.

Kuzma has struggled to find his rhythm lately, coming off back-to-back games with fewer than 7 points. Will he put up more than that tonight? Probably. But cracking 15 points against a tough defensive Timberwolves squad? Not a chance. Bet online on Kuzma to fall short.
