The Portland Trail Blazers will stop the Philadelphia 76ers’ party before it starts as they look to avoid falling prey to the undermanned squad as Denver has. The Blazers (8-8) owe seven of their wins to their home games (7-1) and are also 6-2 against the spread (ATS) here. It’s no surprise they are the clear-cut favorites on the BetUS sportsbook.
Philadelphia (9-7) will still be without star center Joel Embiid and Matisse Thybulle due to COVID protocols. Danny Green (hamstring) is also banged up. Portland will use their home court advantage to its full effect and come away with a “W” here.

76ers: Road Dogs
With or without their star players, the Sixers can be quite a profitable team to bet online when on the road. Philadelphia may only be 2-3 as a visiting team, but their most recent win came as a +270 underdog against Denver. They also beat Chicago as a +155 underdog and are essentially
The Sixers have also covered five of their eight spreads on the road and have the second-best offensive rating and a +2.0 net rating. Their newfound offense is the result of several players stepping up, namely guards Tyrese Maxey and Seth Curry and forward Georges Niang.
Maxey is scoring 17.8 points per game while Curry is the only player in the league currently with a 50-40-90 line. Niang is putting up almost a dozen off the bench. Most notably, all are shooting over 40% from deep, helping the Sixers to the fourth-best effective field goal rate (EFG%) in the league. This team is arguably more efficient without its superstars.
Blazers: Carry Him
Portland has always been known as the team that its superstar, Damian Lillard carries. But early this season, the team has flipped the script and are the ones carrying its franchise player. The six-time All-NBA player is off to his worst start, averaging just 20.4 points on 45.2 EFG%.
The Blazers have managed to win despite Lillard’s woeful shooting. They beat the Pacers when he shot just 2-of-13 and scored four points and Memphis when he had to chuck 22 shots to score 20. Lillard is finding ways to get involved on the offense and is averaging a career-high 8.2 assists.

If Portland is to improve on its mediocre record, Lillard will have to shoot more effectively going forward. The team continues to be terrible on defense (27th in defensive rating) so any additional improvements to its sixth-rated offense will go a long way.
As much as the Sixers are a tempting bet here, they are outgunned when they play the Blazers. Even with Lillard struggling, the Blazers have one of the best offenses in the NBA. CJ McCollum and Norman Powell are still scoring at a high level and Portland is 7-1 at home (6-2 ATS).
Philadelphia has value as dogs here, but grab the Blazers and the points from the sportsbook as they are just a tad bit more talented.
Pick: Portland Trail Blazers -6 (-110)
This NBA free pick is fairly obvious: there will be plenty of points in this game. Five of the Blazers’ eight home games have gone under and that’s ditto for Philadelphia on the road. But these teams get hot and are much better offensively than they are on the other end. This one goes against the recent trend.
