We have quite the matchup on Thursday night when the Golden State Warriors visit the Milwaukee Bucks. The NBA odds have Milwaukee as a slight favorite and the latest news, stats, and injury reports support that this one will be worth watching.
Golden State Warriors (30-10) vs Milwaukee Bucks (26-17)
Bucks Need Holiday
The mighty Milwaukee Bucks need Jrue Holiday. The All-Star point guard missed the previous three games because of COVID and a bum ankle. Holiday has arguably been Milwaukee’s best player, at least for the last few weeks.
A December to Remember for @Jrue_Holiday11.

Without Holiday, Milwaukee is 3-7 and 17.4 points worse. Notably, its offensive rating drops to 106.6 from 118.1. The Bucks’ lack of firepower cost them a pair of games against the Charlotte Hornets.
Holiday’s return will bolster Milwaukee’s online sports betting odds. It will need it as the Bucks have been pretty bad against the spread, going 6-11 as a home favorite (7-13 at home overall). But Milwaukee has played its best when playing host to heavyweights like Brooklyn and Miami. So the Bucks can rise up against Golden State.
Not So Golden State?
We’re all happy that Klay Thompson is back. He delivered quite an emotional game as Golden State smashed Cleveland. But with that in the rearview mirror, the Warriors lost to the Memphis Grizzlies and have now dropped three of their last four.
While Golden State has maintained the NBA’s best defense, the offense has struggled mightily. In their last seven games (in which they’ve gone 3-4), the Warriors’ offensive rating is down to 102.3, the second-worst in the league.
Failing to score 100 points against Dallas and Cleveland, two top-notch defenses, is one thing, but New Orleans and Denver gave Golden State issues. Steph Curry has been ice cold, shooting just 29.2 percent from deep and 34.2 percent overall in this span. If this was not the Warriors, folks would be betting online against them with wild abandon.

Golden State Warriors vs Milwaukee Bucks Prediction
You will rarely find Golden State as an underdog and it has gone 4-3 as one, all on the road. This is a team that’s taken out its top competitors in its own backyard: Brooklyn, Utah and Phoenix. It did this with offense, averaging 118.7 points, which is in short supply with Golden State right now.
On paper, the Warriors could take out Milwaukee from distance. The Bucks are generous in allowing teams to outshoot them from three. But the Bucks are only allowing 33.7 percent from deep and will lock down the paint. Milwaukee is also bigger and longer and no one in Golden State will be able to lock down Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Pick: Milwaukee Bucks -1½
Golden State may just break out of its scoring slump, as the totals indicate. But the Bucks’ size will be an issue for the Warriors for most of the game. Five of Golden State’s last seven games in Milwaukee have gone under. This continues the trend.
