Both Teams Could Be Shorthanded
Heat Seeking Bounce Back
The Miami Heat return home looking for a response when they play host to the Golden State Warriors at the FTX Arena.
The Heat were humbled in Philadelphia last time out as they were simply out-enthused by a Sixers team missing their superstar duo in James Harden and Joel Embiid.

The Warriors are also looking for answers without their former MVP Steph Curry and will be expecting a better showing than what they put forth against the Orlando Magic.
Let’s take a look at the latest news, stats, injury updates and NBA betting odds for Warriors vs Heat.
Wounded Heat Begin Homestand
The Miami Heat will look to kick off a four-game homestand as best they can given their situation with player availability.
The team has listed Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Caleb Martin and Victor Oladipo as questionable for this game, with Gabe Vincent already being ruled out.
As the playoffs edge closer, decisions have to be made to ensure the team’s core pieces are ready and healthy. That makes it hard to evaluate games when any of the aforementioned players could be rested here, especially when weighing the importance of upcoming non-conference games against the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.
Erik Spolestra knows what he has with his squad so the luxury of resting players is one that is probably going to make predicting Miami’s games in the closing week’s incredibly difficult. Not so much because of the effort – there’s rarely a shortage of that with this team – but more so because of the market volatility it creates.
The Heat’s defensive identity is one consistent you can rely on however, and that’s something worth monitoring on totals in certain matchups. The Heat are top-five in opponent effective field goal percentage since the All-Star break and have been all season long, further outlining their consistency on that end of the floor.
Warriors Lost Cause Without Curry
We knew things would be difficult for the Golden State Warriors once it was announced Steph Curry would likely miss the remainder of the regular season, but seeing it unfold in these first two games has been a painful experience.
Like a lot of teams, the Warriors when fully healthy are an entirely different proposition. They’ve had to battle without Draymond Green and/or Klay Thompson for the majority of the season and to now conclude the regular season without Curry changes the dynamic of this team once again.
Steve Kerr said after the loss to the Orlando Magic that he doesn’t know what the solution is for his team at the moment.
“It’s like a domino effect. You saw me searching for lineups tonight,” he said.
Time is not on their side at the moment as the teams behind the Warriors move within touching distance, so the need to find solutions is becoming more urgent with each passing day.
Finding that answer on the road against the top seed in the Eastern Conference probably isn’t the time for it to come together and will only add further strain as they try to fend off Utah, Dallas and Denver to keep hold of home-court advantage for the first round of the playoffs.
The Warriors are 27-73 straight up without Curry in the lineup since 2018 and are 2-6 without him this season.
Warriors vs Heat Head-to-Head
The Warriors were 115-108 winners in the previous meeting with the Heat back in January. Despite the win, they failed to cover the -10 line that day against a Miami team playing without its frontcourt pairing of PJ Tucker and Bam Adebayo.
Last season, the pair split the season series with each team winning on their home floor.
In fact, the Heat have won three straight home meetings with the Warriors dating back to the 2017-18 season.

Warriors vs Heat Head-to-Head Prediction
The Heat may well decide to rest some of their offensive talent in the shape of Butler or Herro. With Vincent already unavailable, their scoring power becomes a little bit one-dimensional against a Warriors team that is still very good at that end of the floor without Curry.
On the flip side, we can’t exaggerate how poorly run this Golden State offense looks at the moment. They have been held to 108 and 90 points by the San Antonio Spurs and Magic in their two outings since losing Curry. They shot under 45 percent from the field in both those games and that’s unlikely to change against a Miami team that is extremely efficient defensively.
The Heat are first in the league in opponent 3-point percentage since the All-Star break (32.3) and seventh in opponent field goal percentage allowed at the rim. With the Warriors still dependent on creating looks on the perimeter for Thompson and Jordan Poole, it’s hard to see a way they get going in a match up like this.
I’d be surprised if sportsbook odds stayed at the current number by tip-off, but with so many questionable tags it may take a while to see serious movement here.
Irrespective of personnel, I come out at closer to 211 being a fair number on this market so any number above that is a good look for those looking to bet online.
Pick: Under 211 points
