The last time these teams played, the Houston Rockets won at home, 91-90, in the NBA Cup quarterfinals. That win also ended the Golden State Warriors’ 15-game win streak over the Rockets. NBA predictions will keep that in mind for this matchup.
The Rockets have rebounded with two straight wins after losing six in a row. Then there are the Warriors, who acquired Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline and have a chance to change a lot about their season.
Warriors vs Rockets Prediction
The BetUS sportsbook sees this game as pretty even. The Rockets should be the better overall team, but they are limping into the All-Star break. Fred VanVleet’s absence was a big part of that slide.
However, this will be the second of a back-to-back for both teams. The Rockets will play both games at home, while the Warriors will play both on the road. Still, the Warriors’ acquisition of Butler rejuvenated them, and they can win 114-111.

Warriors vs Rockets Best 3 NBA Player Props Today
1. Jimmy Butler Over 5.5 Assists
At the trade deadline, NBA news focused on where Butler went. While the Warriors may seem like a weird fit, Butler has immediately improved the team. His playmaking is a significant factor in why this has been a seamless transition.
Draymond Green has always been the lead creator on this team, working off Stephen Curry, who does everything. Butler fits into a Green-like role, being another playmaker and ball handler, but most importantly, someone who collapses a defense, leading to kick outs and assists. Despite the 111-107 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, Butler had seven assists.
2. Amen Thompson Over 5.5 Assists
The Rockets’ losing streak was primarily due to VanVleet’s absence. While his stats are not amazing, he was a playmaker who helped the Rockets stay on track offensively.
Amen Thompson is not on that level, but because of his lack of shooting, he has been asked to be more of a playmaker with VanVleet out. That led to Thompson averaging 6.7 assists during the losing streak. In the Rockets’ last game, a 119-111 win over the Phoenix Suns, he had 11 assists as part of his triple-double.
3. Stephen Curry Over 24.5 Points
Stephen Curry has not had the best season, averaging 23.4 points per game. However, that is changing, and Butler could be a big part of that.

In the first two games with Butler, Curry scored 34 and 38 points. Curry was already getting hot, scoring 32 and 37 in the two games before Butler’s arrival. It’s hard to imagine that changes much in this game. He had a falloff in the loss to the Mavericks, 25 points, but don’t be scared to bet on him.

Warriors vs Rockets Moneyline Pick
The Rockets are waiting for the break. They are already dealing with VanVleet being out, and now their only All-Star, Alperen Sengun, could miss this game with an injury. Sengun played against the Suns, but this is a back-to-back, and he is dealing with a back issue.
Butler has rejuvenated the Warriors, and Curry is playing well. That should help them get a win, even though this might feel like a scheduled loss because of the away back-to-back.

Warriors vs Rockets Spread Pick
The Rockets have an advantage as they will be at home for their back-to-back games while the Warriors are on the road. But with the NBA spread favoring them, the Warriors should be able to keep it close.
Curry and Butler’s play together sparked something for the Warriors. They combined for 46 points and 15 assists in the loss to the Mavericks.
Bet on Warriors +6.5 vs Rockets
Warriors vs Rockets Over/Under Pick
The over can be challenging for NBA picks. The Warriors have hit the over regularly recently, in seven of their last 10 games. In contrast, the Rockets have one of the top defenses in the league, ranked fourth in defensive rating (109.7). However, the Rockets gave up an average of 116 points during their losing streak, leaning this matchup toward the over.
Bet on Warriors vs Rockets Over 217
