The Minnesota Timberwolves host the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of a Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday. Minnesota had little trouble with Los Angeles in the first round, dispatching the Lakers in five games. Golden State needed seven to oust Houston.

NBA betting odds have the Timberwolves at -7, but I’m picking the Warriors to make it close in the opener.

• Julius Randle Under 20.5 Points (-118)

Julius Randle played a good series against the Lakers, but the Warriors’ defense is much better, and I’m picking him to struggle. He scored 23 points in his most-recent game, but with tough Golden State defender Draymond Green likely to switch to Randle at times, he could struggle to score anything over 15 points. Randle under 20.5 is one of my best NBA player prop bets.

• Brandin Podziemski Under 11.5 Points (-105)

My NBA picks for today include Brandin Podziemski under 11.5 points. The Warriors’ two-way player has been excellent, but I can’t see him scoring over 11.5 points against the Timberwolves. He comes off totals of nine, 10 and eight points, and I’m not sure why his line is so high, so take the value.

• Jimmy Butler Over 0.5 Made 3-Pointers (-200)

My last NBA player prop picks include Jimmy Butler over 0.5 threes made. He made 2 for 3 against the Rockets, and looked much more comfortable on the wings. Butler is always tough to bet against in the playoffs, and Playoff Jimmy could star for the Warriors. The 0.5 line is worth snapping up as a value play.
