Toronto Raptors (16-16) vs Miami Heat (14-17)

When: Wednesday, February 24, 8:00 pm, ET
Where: AmericanAirlines Arena, Miami, Florida

Analysis: The Miami Heat are crawling their way back into contention after falling to 11-17. They have recorded three consecutive wins over Sacramento, Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City to reach 14-17.

Despite the very slow start to the season, Miami can still make noise. They’re only a half-game back of Charlotte in the Southwest standings, which bodes well for the Heat.

Beating the Lakers on the road was a significant win and, if they can stay healthy, the Heat could go on a lengthy winning run.

Toronto has also been playing well in recent weeks. The Raptors ripped off a four-game winning streak, and it has been impressive to watch.

Wins came over Milwaukee (twice), Minnesota and Philadelphia. More impressively, both wins over Milwaukee came on the road, which bodes well for this road game.

The three-game series is currently split at 1-1, so we’re expecting a tight tussle.

Prediction:

Bettors can make a case for both teams on Wednesday, but we give the slight edge to Miami. They will appreciate returning home from a successful road trip and have been playing well.

We respect Toronto and the run it’s on, but there is more improvement with the Heat at this stage of the season.

Pick: Heat 118 Raptors 116

San Antonio Spurs (16-11) vs Oklahoma City Thunder (12-19)

When: Wednesday, February 24, 8:00 pm, ET
Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK

Analysis: The San Antonio Spurs lead the Southwest standings by three games over Dallas and they will be keen to keep that margin intact.

San Antonio got the better of the Thunder in their first meeting this season, and it’s not lacking confidence after scoring four wins through its last five games.

The Spurs lone loss came to Golden State, and they have since rattled off wins against Atlanta and Charlotte on the road. Winning on the road has been important for the Spurs, who now hold a 9-3 away record.

Home cooking hasn’t been tasty for Oklahoma City, which has fallen to 4-10 at Chesapeake Energy Arena. It  lost four of its last five games, including home losses to Portland and Miami.

It could be a long season for the Thunder after trading away two of their best players. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been playing well, but he’s not experienced enough to lead this team to success.

Prediction:

Playing on the road has no effect on the San Antonio Spurs, so we’re picking them to score a comfortable victory.

Despite a raft of Spurs injuries to the likes of Rudy Gay and LaMarcus Aldridge, the Spurs have managed to play well as a unit. We like that about this team, so include them in your NBA Wednesday parlay.

Pick: Spurs 112 Thunder 102

Los Angeles Lakers (22-10) vs Utah Jazz (25-6)

When: Wednesday, February 24, 10:00 pm, ET
Where: Vivint Smart Home Arena, Salt Lake City, UT

Analysis: The Utah Jazz have been the best team in the NBA this season and they can take advantage of a hurting Lakers outfit.

Utah owns an NBA-best record of 25-6 following a 132-110 win over Charlotte. The only recent loss came against the Clippers, 116-112, in a tight battle.

With a 14-2 record at home, Utah is going to be tough to beat, despite facing the defending NBA champions on Wednesday.

The Lakers started the season well, but after dropping four of their last five games, there are some concerns. Those losses came to Denver, Brooklyn, Miami and Washington, the most recent one in shocking fashion.

Los Angeles was comfortably ahead but there were no clutch plays down the stretch. It’s a growing concern for this team and Utah could exploit it.

Prediction:

We simply can’t bet against a team as good as Utah. The Jazz have been incredible this season and they could push the Lakers to another loss.

Bettors could get value odds for Utah, as the Lakers are a public-heavy team.
