West Props: KAT to Outscore Kyrie

Bettors get a wealth of prop betting options for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Some of the biggest names headline the game, including Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards.

We look at the best NBA prop bets involving these players for Wednesday’s big game.

Towns to Own Irving

We expect Towns to have a big scoring night in the paint for the Timberwolves, and he could have more points than Irving.

We haven’t been overly impressed with the scoring numbers for Irving during the playoffs, so we’re surprised by NBA betting lines.

Irving is the -173 favorite to outscore Towns, and we think our sportsbook has the line the wrong way around.

Towns averaged 21.8 points per game during the regular season and Irving had 25.6. However, his numbers have fallen off during the 2024 NBA playoffs, so those numbers are closer.

With Doncic and P.J. Washington scoring at will for the Mavericks, Irving has taken a back seat in the points department. Therefore, take the +114 odds for Towns to score more points in Game 1.

Edwards to Outduel Doncic

Edwards and Doncic are the scoring leaders for their respective teams, and it should be a good matchup on Wednesday.

Doncic showed his best form toward the end of the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he was laboring prior to that, which worries us.

We expect more points from Edwards, and although there are more scoring options with the Timberwolves, he should want to take over the game to prove a point.

He wants to show that he’s one of the best players in the NBA, and a big Game 1 scoring night could establish that fact.

He has been unfairly compared to Michael Jordan, which is ridiculous, and even he thinks so, along with Lonzo Ball.

“Like Ant is way different than MJ is to me,” Ball said. “I mean, just because they’re both nice. I mean, they both dunk. They don’t even dunk the same. Their jumper isn’t the same.”

That pressure could make him crumble, but he’s a confident player, who could justify the -121 odds to beat Doncic on the scoring sheet.

Conley Doing the Dishes

The current points line for Mike Conley is 11.5, which pays -110 for the over. However, we think his main focus will be on providing sweet dishes to his teammates.

The point guard brings the experience for the Timberwolves, and it’s much needed. His wise head has won them many games, and we think he has a big night in the assists department.

His current line is 6.5, which pays +120. If he has seven or more assists, bettors get juicy odds in Game 1, and they’re too good to pass up.

Conley averages 5.9 assists per game, but with so much on the line in Minnesota, he should look to pass the ball more often.

We expect the Timberwolves to put up plenty of points and make shots, which should see his numbers increase.

Doncic 26-28 Points

One of our favorite prop bets of the night comes with risk, but the odds make it worth including.

Doncic to score 26-28 points pays +300, and although that’s a small window for bettors to cash, the odds are generous.

We think his offense will be kept in check for much of the game, but he’s so naturally talented, scoring more than 25 points is almost a given.

He should be kept to fewer than 30 points, so this prop bet is worth snapping up at the value odds.

Back Doncic 26-28 points before the odds firm.
