Look, you didn’t actually think I was going to tell you to bet on the Wizards to cover the spread, did you? The smart bet here is to run with the Dallas Mavericks, laying the points. We all know this game is Dallas’s to win, but I’m also banking on Thompson to finish the game with more than 10.5 points. Sure, we can all agree this isn’t the Golden State Klay who used to drop 37 points in a quarter. Even Thompson himself has admitted those glory days are in the rearview mirror. But let’s not kid ourselves – he’s still a sharpshooter who’s averaging 12.7 points per game this season.

And here’s the kicker: Thompson is coming off a weak four-point performance against the Grizzlies, which screams bounce-back opportunity. Now add in the Wizards’ atrocious defense – ranking 27th, giving up 14.4 3-pointers per game. What does that tell you?
