Let’s take a look at my NFL predictions and which teams are the best bets for this market.

1. Patriots Looking Dire

The reign of the Patriots is well and truly over, and there are no remnants left of the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick era.

Journeyman Jacoby Brissett plays at quarterback and there aren’t too many quality receivers for him to target. There has been talk of Drake Maye taking the top spot, but we don’t see many positives from him either.

“I would say you come into camp and you want to have an idea on how it’s going,” head coach Jerod Mayo told NFL news outlets. “It’s still a competition and Jacoby is still QB1. It’s a competition among all the guys on the field, including the quarterback spot. Hopefully, that kind of makes sense to you guys, but he’s (Brissett) still QB1.”

Recruiting hasn’t gone well for the struggling franchise, which could struggle to score over three wins in 2024, which would be an awful year.

Most of the money has come for the Patriots to have the fewest wins. They opened as the second favorites behind the Panthers, but after firming into +320 at our sportsbook, it has been one-way traffic.

Confidence is at an all-time low, so bettors should snap up the odds.

2. Struggle Street Continues for Panthers

There have been random bursts of confidence for the Panthers, but we think that’s misguided hope.

They are likely to be horrible again in 2024 after winning just two games. That’s a terrible record, and we don’t see much improvement on the cards.

Their team looks better on paper than the Patriots, so we’ll give them that. However, we aren’t convinced Bryce Young at quarterback works in their favor.

He has yet to show much in the NFL, and the Panthers haven’t looked great in preseason, going 0-2 at the time of writing.

It’s a tough division, and that could see their record suffer. They should win more than two games, but they could finish around 4-13, which could be enough to see them take the fewest wins title.

3. Can the Broncos Buck the Trend?

One of the best-backed teams to have the fewest NFL wins is the Denver Broncos. They firmed into +600 on the back of strong betting support and have every chance of having a shocking year.

Take nothing away from quarterback Bo Nix, but we don’t think he will be their saving grace, and we know about the Broncos’ struggle in signing a good QB.

Nothing excites us about the Broncos team, and that could have an effect on their win/loss record, which we’re predicting to be around 3-4 wins.

Despite having success in the preseason, we can’t see the Broncos turning up and beating teams when it counts. They had Russell Wilson and barely made it off the ground, so having a rookie QB in Nix could add to their problems.

He’s the fifth-oldest quarterback to make his NFL debut since 1950, and we don’t see that as a positive. There is usually a reason why he didn’t enter the draft earlier, and we think the Broncos have pulled the wrong rein, despite how impressive Nix was at the college level.

He’s the first Denver rookie QB to start the season since John Elway in 1983.

“Obviously, that’s great to share with such a great player as John Elway,” Nix said. “You just want to go out there and get the first win, ultimately compete at a high level, and give your team the best chance to win.”

Success will be limited, so the +600 odds for Denver look spot on.
