This NFL Week 2 injury report will cover the five early NFC matchups happening Sunday. They will cover every impactful player on every NFL team taking part in these games. This handicapping injury report covers up to and including what happened in Friday morning practices, and some of the afternoon ones. When it comes to NFL betting analysis, there is little more valuable than knowing who is going to be on the field and who is going to be out or hampered. We not only break down all the player injuries but also tell you in which direction you should lean when making your bets. If you want an edge when betting the NFL odds in any week, this is where you will get it.

See the AFC and Interconference injury report handicap here, and the Sunday late afternoon game, SNF, and MNF report here.

RAMS (45½) at EAGLES (Pk)

Rams

The Rams come into the game relatively unscathed from last week. TE Gerald Everett showed up on the injury report with a back issue when he did not practice on Wednesday. Limited on Thursday, he’s listed as questionable. Rams’ starting left tackle Andrew Whitworth’s first day of practice off before returning in full.

Eagles

Running back Miles Sanders will make his 2020 debut after missing last week. RT Lane Johnson is back to practice this week after spending last week inactive and is expected to start. LT Jason Peters played the entire game but ended up on the injury report. He has since been delisted and is expected to start. Also, Nate Herbig will again start at right guard.

Starting DE Brandon Graham was hit with a concussion early in the fourth quarter last week, was limited in practice and listed as questionable. While it’s possible he’ll start, the other Eagles questionable, starting DE Derek Barnett (hamstring), certainly should. Further, DE Javon Hargrave practiced fully on Friday and expected to make his debut.

Leans

While the Rams opened as a dog, moved to a slight fave, and are now a pick. Lean to Philly here getting a boost to their front lines on both sides of the ball.

PANTHERS (47½) at BUCCANEERS (-9)

Panthers

Starting DT Kawan Short played through last week’s game but ended up on the injury report with a foot problem. He is considered out of Sunday’s game (but will still travel). Backup DE Yetur Gross-Matos was limited in practice with an eye issue and backup LG Dennis Daley (ankle) have also both been ruled out.

Buccaneers

Buccaneers starting wideout Chris Godwin returned to practice on Friday with a helmet suggesting he might clear concussion protocol and possibly play. Still listed as doubtful, his return would be a welcome surprise. Their other lead receiver Mike Evans, previously limited with a hammy, fully practiced Friday and is off the injury report. UPDATE: Saturday, Sept. 19, 17:45 EST – Godwin has been ruled out.

Starting LT Donovan Smith was listed with a knee and was limited but is not listed as questionable and should certainly suit up. Backup TE Antony Auclair (calf) is now ruled out.

Leans

With Panthers CB Donte Jackson at full practice, Tom Brady may not get as much opportunity to pick on Troy Pride Jr. all day. Plus 10 was a good number to take, but it’s now a lean at nine as we wait for Godwin’s game-time decision. Also leaning under the total.

FALCONS (54) at COWBOYS (-4)

Falcons

DT Marlon Davidson, who didn’t play last week due to a knee injury looks unable to make it back this week, having been downgraded to doubtful. Starting LT Jake Matthews was limited late in the week and listed as questionable, but is expected to go. Also, WR Julio Jones is expected to start despite being limited this week as well.

Cowboys

Dallas lost starting MLB Layton Vander Esch to a broken collarbone last week as well as starting TE Blake Jarwin. Back-up tackle Cam Erving was also injured but appears to have recovered. Starting LT Tyron Smith suffered a mid-week setback to his neck that now makes him a game-time decision.

On the plus side, DE Aldon Smith is back from the dentist and participated in Friday’s walkthrough, as is WR Amari Cooper whose foot showed up on the mid-week injury report. Both are expected to play.

Leans

Even after sustaining the Vander Esch injury, Dallas’ defense is a cut above the Falcons. The temptation is to lay the four points with the Cowboys but would prefer to wait on Tyron Smith’s game-time status. Also leaning under the nosebleed 54.

LIONS (49½) at PACKERS (-6½)

Lions

Friday’s practice did not bring good news to the Lions: neither of their two most concerning injured players showed up during the open portion of practice. Both the most potent offensive weapon WR Kenny Golladay and starting CB Desmond Trufant are now ruled out.

Add to that dogpile, starting right guard Joe Dahl also ruled out because of his groin. They are also still expecting backup RT Tyrell Crosby to continue to fill in for the starter, Halapoulivaati Vaitai who is still listed as questionable.

UPDATE: Saturday, Sept. 19, 17:45 EST – Lions defensive tackle Nick Williams has been ruled out (shoulder).

Packers

NT Kenny Clark has missed practice all week and is out. The same can be said for backup TE Josiah Deguara (who took snaps late week) and backup WR Equanimeous St. Brown (who was inactive).

Leans

The Lions will appreciate not having to fight Kenny Clark up the middle, particularly with a thin O-line. Taking the Packers under the touchdown seems to be the only reasonable action here. While we leaned to the over earlier in the week, that number is climbing.

GIANTS (42) at BEARS (-5½)

Giants

Giants’ WR Golden Tate was limited throughout the week with a hammy. He is listed as questionable but will likely get a snap count. Backup strong safety Adrian Colbert (quad) has also been ruled out.

Bears

The Bears lost little to injury in their opener. OLBs Khalil Mack (knee) and Robert Quinn (ankle) have been limited in practice this week, but that didn’t stop Giants’ coach Joe Judge from explicitly saying he expects them in the Chicago starting lineup when they face-off. DE Akiem Hicks also returned to practice Friday after missing the previous day due to illness. He’ll suit up.

Leans

After leaning to the Giants at 4½, it’s more tempting at 5½. Injury-wise it’s surprising to see the line move for the Bears, but we’d be able to take six, and lean to the over.
