A pair of winless teams will meet up Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants will look to avoid being one of the remaining winless teams after Week 3. Atlanta won the last meeting in 2018. The Falcons are coming off a 45-28 blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the Giants lost on Thursday Night Football to Washington 30-29. The latest NFL spreads show the New York Giants -3, with a total of 48½.
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was pretty solid in the loss to Washington with both a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown. He has yet to throw an interception in 69 passing attempts.
His top target has been Sterling Sherpard with 207 yards and a score. Saquan Barkley has been pretty ineffective as he makes his way back from a torn ACL that caused him to miss nearly all of last season. The former Penn State start has just 83 yards and no touchdowns.
Cordarrelle Patterson has been one of the only bright spots for the Falcons. The running back carried the ball for just 11 yards Sunday, but he scored two touchdowns. Patterson is getting the second-most carries behind Mike Davis, who has rushed for 87 yards in two games.
Matt Ryan has thrown three interceptions in two games and been sacked four times. That goes along with just two touchdown passes. Top wideout Calvin Ridley caught one of the scoring passes while rookie tight end Kyle Pitts is averaging 52 yards per game.
