A pair of NFC South teams will square off on Sunday as the Atlanta Falcons take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons are seeking their first win after they took a 32-6 beat-down from Philadelphia in Week 1. Tampa Bay is looking to follow up a 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys in their season opener. Tom Brady and the Buccaneers are -12.5-point favorites with the latest NFL point spreads, and the total is listed at 5.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan lost his top weapon in Julio Jones in the offseason and it showed in Week 1. Atlanta’s passing game did not find the end zone. Ryan threw the football 35 times for 164 yards. Calvin Ridley was the best option for the veteran quarterback as he caught five passes for 51 yards.

The Falcons did not score a touchdown. In fact, their field goal on the first play of the second quarter was the final time they scored. Running backs Cordarrelle Patterson and Mike Davis combined for 22 carries and 103 yards.

Tom Brady may be 44 years old but continues to get the job done — and in a big way. Brady threw for 379 yards and four touchdowns in the Week 1 win. Tampa Bay scored 28 points in the first three quarters but needed a late field goal to hold off the Cowboys. Brady’s passing touchdowns were to Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski (twice) and Antonio Brown.

The Buccaneers’ defense is supposed to be one of the best in the league, but their Week 1 performance certainly did not show that. The Cowboys’ passing attack amassed 403 yards. Tampa Bay did keep the ground game from getting going, holding Dallas to 60 rushing yards.
