Of the NFL teams with a 4-1 record this season, the New York Giants are the most surprising. After all, this is a team the outright NFL odds expected to be one of the worst. But the Giants are a perfect 3-0 as underdogs. They open as one again when they host the Baltimore Ravens, who are perfect 2-0 on the road.

Ravens Fly High as Road Warriors
The Ravens are 3-2 for the season but could easily be 5-0 had they managed to hold on to their leads. A lot can be blamed on the defense, which has given up the most passing yards. But this same defense also leads the NFL in interceptions (11) while keeping the Bills and Bengals to 23 points or fewer.

On the defensive end, the Giants are allowing just three points every fourth quarter. That’s the seventh-best mark in the NFL. New York is also one of eight teams with a red-zone scoring defense better than 50 percent (41.2 percent). So this team may yield points and yards, but it covers the most important parts.

We understand why the sportsbook pegs the Ravens as the favorites here. Baltimore, on paper, has a significantly better quarterback. Take what Jones does and multiply that and that’s what Jackson has been doing for the team. The Ravens’ defense may also yield plenty of yards but it is good at forcing turnovers and preventing opponents from scoring.
However, the Giants are playing inspired football right now. Jones and Saquon Barkley are playing for bigger contracts even if the former denies it. Baltimore will be hard-pressed to stop Barkley, which will make the Giants’ play action and run/pass option even deadlier – something in which Jones, even in his limited form, excels at.
