The Detroit Bills, er, the Buffalo Bills kick off the NFL’s 2022 Thanksgiving tripleheader by welcoming back the Detroit Lions to Ford Field on the Thursday night football odds. The NFL betting lines strongly lean on Buffalo – by at least 10 points – as the Bills look to cover against a Lions team that has won three straight games.

Are the Bills ‘Back’?

But even with the offense’s resurgence, bettors should still be wary about betting online on the TNF odds. Buffalo had a hard time pressuring Browns quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The journeyman threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns. The Bills managed just one sack. And with pass rushers Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epensa dealing with ankle issues, Buffalo may have to deal with another prolific game from its opponent.
Don’t Play With Lions
True to their moniker, the Detroit Lions have been a dangerous team on the NFL betting lines. Detroit has won three straight games, all as underdogs. The team also improved to 16-9-0 against the spread (ATS) as an underdog since Dan Campbell took over as the coach.
The Lions also showcased a new wrinkle to the team: a sturdy defense. Detroit may still rank in the NFL in points against (28.2 per game), but this team beat Green Bay and the New York Giants by holding them to 18 points or fewer. And against Chicago, the Lions scored a pick-six in the fourth to fuel their comeback win.
Detroit has shown to be a resilient squad, which means it will have to overcome more injuries. Center Evan Brown (ankle) is questionable, as is receiver Josh Reynolds (back). But if the Lions can continue playing inspired defense to go with their offense, this team will be worth picking in NFL predictions.

On paper, this seems like a straightforward win for Buffalo. After all, the Lions are just 3-13-1 on the moneyline as an underdog, but that price is too long. Still, betting on Detroit, even at +330, is not ideal either. There is no value in a losing bet.
- Worth Betting ATS?
This is where the juice is. The Lions have tremendous value on the spread. Detroit can work with nine points. The Lions are 4-2-0 ATS as an underdog of 10 or more points since 2021. Buffalo, on the flip side, is 5-3-2 ATS as a favorite of 10 or more points in this same span.
