The Buffalo Bills head south to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field for a Week 9 AFC matchup. The Bills moved to 5-2 with a 26-11 win over the Miami Dolphins while the Jags were blown out by the Seattle Seahawks on the road 31-7. NFL betting odds opened with the Bill as the heavy -14 favorite, while the point total is set at 48½.

Coming off a bye week, the Buffalo Bills got off to a slow start against Miami, putting up three points in the first half. However, Josh Allen and the Bills exploded for 23 points in the second half, including three total touchdowns from Allen. A clear MVP candidate, Allen is leading the offense to a third-best 32.7 points per game.

On the defensive side of the ball, Buffalo is leading the league in total yards allowed (182.4) while allowing a minuscule 15.6 points per game. The secondary is the strength of the defense. The Bills are only conceding 182.6 yards per game through the air, ranking first in the league. They also pace the league in turnover differential (+13) and 18 total takeaways.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, followed up their win in London by putting up a dud on the road in Seattle. Rookie Trevor Lawrence is tied for third in the league after throwing his eighth interception. Coming off a bye and facing the league’s worst defense, the Jaguars only mustered seven points.

Coming off his best game as a pro, Lawrence only connected for 238 yards against the league’s worst passing defense. The running game didn’t give much help with just 82 yards, led by James Robinson with 22 yards.

The defense was flat-out atrocious against backup quarterback Geno Smith, allowing him to find the end zone twice through the air and once on the ground. The defense did hold the Seattle rushing attack in check, but the secondary didn’t do enough to keep the game close. The Jags own a league-worst two takeaways and are giving up 28.7 points per game.
