The Carolina Panthers are badly beaten up at the quarterback spot. It will be a distinct challenge for them to not only beat the Baltimore Ravens but to even cover the NFL betting odds.
The Ravens have won three in a row and are rested after a bye week. Are they as easy a bet to win and cover in the sportsbook as it looks on paper?
Rare Win for Panthers
The Panthers were able to grab a must-have victory against the Atlanta Falcons last week, prevailing 25-15 in bad weather. They dominated the line of scrimmage by sacking Atlanta quarterback Marcus Mariota five times.
The Panthers were able to capitalize on nearly every possession on defense. As soon as the Falcons got into a passing situation, Carolina was able to shut down the drive and get off the field in third-down moments.
Carolina took advantage of a weak Falcons offensive line, but the problem is that Baltimore’s offensive line is a lot stronger than Atlanta’s.
The other problem is that Carolina can only play so many games within the weak NFC South. Those who bet online should note that the Panthers are 3-1 against the NFC South and are 0-6 against everyone else.
The Ravens handled a different NFC South opponent, the New Orleans Saints, on Monday Night Football on Nov. 7.
The Ravens led by double digits at halftime and cruised to a drama-free 27-13 win, the kind of victory every NFL team dreams about. It wasn’t a total blowout, but it was comfortable.
It was a game in which Baltimore was able to win fairly easily without getting amazing performances from its offensive stars. As you might recall, tight end Mark Andrews didn’t even play.
This week, the formula is quite simple: just don’t make any mistakes. Carolina is not a very competent team and it can’t hang around unless it gets help.
The Ravens have the league’s third-ranked run defense. If the Panthers can’t run, they’re probably not scoring more than 14-17 points.

Panthers vs Ravens Picks & Prediction
The Ravens beat the Saints by 14 in New Orleans. They should be able to beat the wounded Panthers by at least 14 in Baltimore. Remember, they’ve won three in a row and are coming off a bye.
The other key here is that the Panthers need to run the ball well to compete and the Ravens rank third in rushing yards allowed at 92.0 per game. This figures to be a tough, uphill battle for Carolina to compete or cover.
Take the Ravens with your NFL picks.
