The Denver Broncos have had a nightmarish season. When they traded for Russell Wilson in the offseason, they probably expected to have a winning record through 10 games.
Instead, they are 3-7. It has been a disaster for Wilson and first-year NFL head coach Nathaniel Hackett, who previously worked under Matt LaFleur with the Green Bay Packers.
The Broncos go to Charlotte to face the Carolina Panthers, who fired head coach Matt Rhule earlier this season and will hire a new head coach in January. Those who bet online know that the Panthers are also in the midst of a brutal season.
That begs the question: which team is the best option versus the NFL odds here?
Let’s check the latest NFL odds, stats, injury reports, and NFL lines for Broncos vs Panthers. We’ve plenty of Vegas NFL odds and NFL week 12 picks for you to consider.

Broncos Laboring on Offense, Wasting Great Defense
The story of the 2022 Denver Broncos is a very simple one and it has little to do with injuries or unlucky bounces of the ball: Their offense is bad and the coach is bad.
The Broncos lost 17-16 to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 of the season with Russell Wilson losing against his former team – the team the Broncos traded with to get what they thought would be a top NFL quarterback.
Instead, Wilson has been poor. He has completed just 180 passes, an average of under 20 completions per game. He has thrown just seven touchdown passes while tossing five interceptions. A TD-INT ratio that is nearly even?
That’s dramatically worse than anyone in Denver could have imagined at the start of the season. The Broncos averaged just 14.7 points, which is something one would have expected if Drew Lock had remained on the Denver roster.
If there are some positives, it’s that Wilson – at times – looked better after Hackett gave up the play-calling duties last week. Wilson completed a season-high 77.4% of his passes and the 24 completions were his second-best from Week 1. Maybe he’s starting to turn it around.
Panthers Aren’t Good, but Defense Offers Hopes
The Panthers, unlike the Broncos, were not expected to be good this season. It was expected that Matt Rhule would be fired before 2022 came to an end, and that happened. Next season, they’ll need to start fresh at quarterback and at head coach.
However, they have real hope for the future based on what their defense has done in recent weeks. They limited Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to just three points. They limited the Atlanta Falcons to 15 points, and last week they gave up just 13 points to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Panthers are stacking together some good results on defense. If they figure out the offense next year, they can be competitive again.
