The Green Bay Packers (3-1) will head to Paul Brown Stadium to take on the Cincinnati Bengals (3-1) in Week 5 of NFL action. Green Bay dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers on both sides of the ball en route to a 27-17 victory while the Bengals picked up a 24-21 comeback win against Jacksonville on Thursday night football. Early NFL odds have the Green Bay Packers as the -3½-point road favorite, with the point total set at 49½.
After dropping their first game of the season, the Packers have clicked on all cylinders. Against the Steelers, their offense moved the ball with ease. Since the opening-week loss, Aaron Rodgers has thrown for eight touchdowns with no turnovers. Rodgers also tied Dan Marino with 420 career touchdown passes, recording two on Sunday.
The Packers’ defense shut down Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers. In addition to stuffing Pittsburgh twice on fourth down, the defense recorded two sacks and an interception. They’ll need to bring the pressure against Joe Burrow and the Bengals’ rising young offense.
The Bengals didn’t score a single point in the first half last week but exploded for 24 points in the second half. Burrow had the offense rolling as Tyler Boyd and Ja’Marr Chase combined for 15 catches and 195 yards while tight end C.J. Uzomah secured two touchdowns. With a talented young core, the offense is starting to heat up and should put pressure on Green Bay’s defense at home.
Cincinnati’s defense has played very uninspiring football up to this point. The Jaguars converted four of seven third downs and kept moving the ball in the first half. However, the defense rebounded and kept the Jags to just seven points in the second half. They will need every bit of extra time to prepare for Rodgers.
