It could be the last time we see the two greatest quarterbacks of their generation share the field. Aaron Rodgers leads his Green Bay Packers against Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The NFL odds slightly favor Brady’s Bucs as the home team. In four meetings against each other, Brady is 3-1 against Rodgers. However, Brady will need to win with a thinned supporting cast this Sunday.
Packers’ Offense Is Transitioning
While the world remained enamored with the ageless Brady, Rodgers put up some of his most impressive seasons as a 38-year-old. The 10-time Pro Bowler won consecutive MVPs as he led the NFL in passer rating from 2020 to 2021. But all that feels like a lifetime ago as Green Bay is moving to a different type of offense.
Green Bay Packers lost Nathaniel Hackett, the team’s offensive coordinator for the last three seasons. On top of that, the team traded Davante Adams. In this new era, the Packers have become more of a run-heavy team. They used Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon to pound the Bears for their first win of the season.
It works with Green Bay’s personnel as the team still sports a top-10 secondary. Folks who drafted Rodgers in NFL Fantasy should be looking to sell low on him as the typically prolific quarterback could have modest stats this season. But if it results in wins, the Packers are worth betting online.
Buccaneers Dealing With Absences
With Mike Evans getting suspended for this game, the Buccaneers lose another key player on offense. Tampa Bay Buccaneers are already without their two best offensive linemen and potentially Chris Godwin and Julio Jones. That leaves Brady with a receiving corps that is just as bad as Rodgers’ on paper.

While Russell Gage has already been putting in work, the likes of Breshad Perriman and Cameron Brate will need to step up. Perriman has only caught three of his targets while Brate has caught two of five.
Tampa, also like Green Bay, will be anchored by its stalwart defense. The 13 points it’s surrendered is the fewest in the NFL. The defense also allows the second-lowest passer rating from opposing quarterbacks (54.6) and has the most sacks (10). All Brady needs to do is move the ball and minimize turnovers and the Bucs will be a live dog on the sportsbook.

Packers vs Buccaneers Prediction
The total of 41½ is a telling number here as the last two meetings between these teams have averaged 52½ points. The Buccaneers scored 30+ points in both games. However, these teams’ receiving groups are shells of what they were. Rodgers and Brady will not be in a firefight here.
This game will be slow-paced with every possession counting. Rodgers and Brady are both exacting quarterbacks who minimize mistakes. The difference could come down to one errant throw or turnover in the fourth quarter. With that in mind, our money is on the Bucs.
