Surprising Giants Go after Another Win
Coming into the season, the teams were in similar situations as the Texans and Giants used high draft picks in the rebuilding process.
When the Texans are still limping along, the Giants are one of the most surprising teams in the NFL with a 6-2 record and that includes wins over the Titans and Packers, who were the top-seeded teams in the AFC and NFC in the 2022 playoffs.
The Giants have 14 rookies and the Texans have 13 on the roster. Houston running back Dameon Pierce is priced at +200 to win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award and that trails only Seattle running back Kenneth Walker. Texans safety Jalen Pitre (+1600) and Giants defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux (+2000) are among the top candidates in the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year race according to the sportsbook.
According to the NFL playoff odds, the Giants (+3000) are eighth in the odds to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. The Texans (+50000) are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the longest odds to win the AFC.
Let’s check the latest NFL odds, stats, injury reports, and NFL lines for Texans vs Giants. We’ve plenty of Vegas NFL odds and NFL week 10 picks for you to consider.
Will Pierce Be Ready To Go?
A bright spot in the 2022 season for the Texans is Pierce who is on pace to run for more than 1,000 yards. He is coming off a career-high 139 rushing yards in a loss to the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. However, he has been limited in practice with chest and shoulder injuries.
Veteran Rex Burkhead could see a bigger role this week if those injuries limit Pierce in the game. The offense should be aided by the expected return of receiver Brandin Cooks. Cooks was reportedly upset that he wasn’t traded and was not active for the game against the Eagles. With Nico Collins missing his second game in a row, the Texans were without their top two pass catchers.
Both Cooks and Collins are dealing with injuries that have limited their participation in practice so keep an eye on that as kickoff approaches.
Four of Houston’s last six games finished over the NFL odds total.
Giants Look To Get Offense Going
The matchup against the Seattle Seahawks was not the season’s bright spot for the Giant’s offense.
New York finished with 225 yards and nine first downs in the 27-13 loss. Saquon Barkley finished with a season-low 53 rushing yards while quarterback Daniel Jones was sacked five times and threw for just 176 yards in the game.
The Giants didn’t play last week so that extra time will allow the Giants to get healthier and work on improving an offense that is ranked 25th in the NFL with an average of 320.6 yards per game.
The Giants have mastered the art of winning close games. The Seattle contest was the first one this season that didn’t end as a one-score game.
Six of the eight games for the Giants have finished under the Las Vegas odds total.
Texans vs Giants Game Injuries
Texans vs Giants Head-to-Head
The Giants have won each of the last four meetings including a 27-22 road win as a six-point underdog in the most recent matchup in 2018. The Giants are 2-0 at home against the Texans but 1-1 against the spread.
The teams have met once every four years since Houston joined the NFL. The total of 40½ is the lowest in the series since the first game between the teams in 2002.

Texans vs Giants Picks & Prediction
This is a matchup of teams that have star running backs but struggle to sustain drives. The Texans and Giants rank 26th and 29th in passing yards per game so it shouldn’t be a surprise that only two other games have lower totals this week than the 41.5 in this contest.
The Giant’s defense took a hit when safety Xavier McKinney suffered an off-the-field injury during the bye week. He is fourth on the team with 38 tackles. That will result in more playing time for rookie Dane Belton.
Wink Martindale said Dane Belton will get more playing time. “I think he’s a student of the game.” He takes it very seriously. “Plays will come for him” because he does it the right way. He’s ahead of the curve for a rookie.

The Giants are also without rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger.
Both teams will be without key pass rushers as Houston’s Jonathan Greenard and New York’s Azeez Ojulari are on injured reserve so perhaps that will result in quarterbacks Davis Mills and Daniel Jones having more time to throw.
The Giants are not only 6-2 straight up but have the same mark against the NFL betting lines while the Texans have lost their last eight games against NFC teams.
The New York Giants are listed at -230 in our Vegas NFL lines. This means that if you wager $100 on the Giants, you have a chance to win $43. The Houston Texans are +190, offering a chance to win $190 on a $100 wager.
The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives New York a 69.70% chance to win, with the Texans at 34.48%.
