The Houston Texans lost their 12th game of the season last week, though again the effort was valiant. A week after they probably should have beaten the Dallas Cowboys, they took the Kansas City Chiefs to overtime.
This team continues to fight, They haven’t been able to close the sale, Now, they get their AFC South rivals, the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are free-falling down the stretch. They’ve lost four straight games, back to .500 on the season.
Texans vs Titans Betting Lines
Texans Fighting, Not Winning
Their mistakes and an inability to finish games is what’s hurt this group in the past two weeks.
They had a late lead against the Chiefs, then they allowed them to tie it. They was even a potential game-winning Chiefs’ field goal in regulation, but Harrison Butker missed it.
Then in overtime, Houston had possession when quarterback Davis Mills fumbled, all but handing the Chiefs the win. The previous week, the Texans allowed a 98-yard game-winning touchdown drive to the Dallas Cowboys in the dying seconds.
If you bet online, at least the Texans are covering the spread. They’re a big number once again, making them worthy of consideration in the sportsbook.
Henry to Feast?
The Titans might be struggling noticeably, but the Texans have always been a team against which to rebound. That’s because Derrick Henry tends to feast against Houston. The running back has consistently dominated these games.
Expect Tennessee to lean even more on Henry after news surfaced on Wednesday that quarterfinal Ryan Tannehill could miss the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury sustained in last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Rookie Malik Willis, a third-round pick out of Liberty, will make his third start. He beat the Texans 17-10 in Week 8, but completed only 6 of 10 for 55 yards and an interception. He finished 5 of 16 for 80 yards in a loss at Kansas City the following week.
Henry has four games of 200-plus rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Texans. He amassed 219 yards and a pair of TDs against them earlier in Week 8. Considering the Texans have the worst run defense in the NFL (167½ yards/game), he will be champing at the bit to do it again.

Texans vs Titans Picks & Prediction
Predicted Score: Titans 27, Texans 20
- Worth the Moneyline?
The moneyline is worth a lean toward the Titans. Henry plays so well against the Texans, and the Titans go as Henry goes.
- Worth the ATS?
Tennessee is favored by a touchdown in this division showdown. However, the Titans have not lost against Houston in years when Henry is healthy.
Even when Deshaun Watson was quarterbacking, Houston couldn’t figure out the Titans. There’s less skilled players now in Houston, and while the game might be competitive early, Houston losing by a touchdown seems to be about right.
- Worth the Totals?
The total is currently at 40, and the overlooks good in your NFL picks. The last meeting went under this total, but Henry and the Titans are likely to score a fair amount of points here.
Couple that with the fact Houston has been getting more production out of a two-quarterback system, so the teams should be able to surpass the 40-point plateau.
