The Jacksonville Jaguars face off against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium for a week ten AFC South battle. The Jaguars (2-6) stunned the Bills (4-5), winning at home 9-6, while the Colts dropped 45 on the Jets, winning 45-30 on Thursday Night football. Early NFL odds opened with the Colts as the 10½-point favorite, with the point total at 47½.
Everyone wrote off the Jags after a miserable performance against the Seahawks, but they bounced back and went toe to toe with the NFL’s best defense and explosive offense. It was sloppy with neither team finding the endzone, but the Jags, who haven’t gotten a field goal on U.S. soil all year, connected three times for the win.
The defense stole the show as they provided plenty of flash. Jaguars’ defensive end Josh Allen has been the star, coming off a two sack performance last week and got another sack against the Bills. Jacksonville forced three turnovers (more than they had on the entire season) and held the explosive Bills offense to six points.
Carson Wentz helped lead the offense to 45 points throwing three touchdowns with no turnovers and a career-high 123.3 passer rating last week against the Jets. The rushing attack continues to be the catalyst of this offense, with Jonathan Taylor recording 200 total yards and two touchdowns, while Nheim Hines added 108 yards from scrimmage.
The pass defense has been a problem for the Colts, and that was on display against the Jets as they were able to move the ball with ease, finishing with four touchdowns through the air. The Colts are 20th in the league, allowing 260.8 yards through the air and rank last, allowing 2.6 passing touchdowns per game.
