The Jacksonville Jaguars could be the biggest surprise in the AFC this season. They’re 1-1 and are looking like a solid turnaround story.
Week 3 will be their toughest test to date, though, as they head to Los Angeles to face the Chargers – a team who is among the favorites to win the Super Bowl, according to the NFL betting odds.
The Chargers are coming off a three-point loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 15 in a game they probably should have won. They’re favored on the NFL odds as the oddsmakers expect a rebound since they’ve had 10 days to prepare.
The biggest question mark in the game is the status of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, who is dealing with an injury to his ribs.

Both Indianapolis and the Tennessee Titans are winless through two games. Jacksonville has a real chance to win the division and it already has a head-to-head win against the Colts.
Lawrence was a solid 25 of 30 last week with no turnovers and it will take a similar effort this week to hang with the Chargers.
Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers have to balance their short-term goals with their long-term interests in this game. The Jaguars are improved, but they are not an elite team.
Herbert got banged up against the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. Getting the win here is key, but getting Herbert healthy is more important to their season-long prospects.
Could this be the time they rely on the ground game more? The Chargers are averaging a league-worst 2.7 yards per carry. They’re one of 11 teams that’s yet to notch a rushing touchdown.
Those who bet online know they have a lethal passing game, but finding some balance on the ground could be key this week considering Herbert’s health.
