**Odds as of 09/28/2021**
The Kansas City Chiefs (1-2) head to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles (1-2) in a Week 4 NFL matchup. The Chiefs were stunned by the Los Angeles Chargers 30-24 in Week 3, dropping them to last in the AFC West.
The Eagles were blown out by the Dallas Cowboys 41-21 on Monday night football, and it won’t get any easier taking on the defending AFC champions. Early NFL betting odds have the Chiefs as the -9 road favorite, with the total set at 54½.
Surprisingly, the Chiefs are under .500, but Patrick Mahomes has still looked fantastic, throwing three touchdowns in each game and averaging well over 300 passing yards.
Additionally, Clyde Edwards-Helaire has had some fumble issues but averaged 5.9 yards per carry, leading to a 100-yard rushing day against a strong Chargers defense.
Kansas City failed to eclipse 30 points for the first time in last week’s loss. The Chiefs are having major issues with pass defense and are allowing 31.7 points per game, tied with the Detroit Lions for the worst in the NFL.
The Eagles will be coming off a short week after giving up 41 points to the Cowboys on Monday night football. Fletcher Cox provided an early spark for the defense with a strip-sack for a score in the first quarter. Other than that, the Eagles got run over by Zeke Elliott and Dallas, allowing 160 yards on the ground.
Jalen Hurts was pretty inefficient on Monday Night Football with a fumble and two interceptions, including one for a pick-six.
Overall, the dual-threat quarterback has had his moments and the Eagles have big-time weapons with wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor. However, they need to get the ground game going with Miles Sanders, who only rushed twice after Philadelphia got down big early.
